MemberIt is just so freakin dumb. That only seems to be a thing in the games for some reason. In the anime, manga, and special episodes they can breed.
Zenevapurmafrost
MemberThey are treated like Rhinos. They can't breed in captivity.
S1mpleone2
MemberAnd yet the actual rhino pokemon can in all stages.

MemberSo wait you can never get her pregnant and can just always go raw? I fail to see downside, only positives.

MemberI like to think that they just change to the undiscovered egg group, and consider that one only viable with humans.
FunniBunni
MemberI don't care if it's biologically impossible I'LL GET HER PREGNANT

MemberFor anyone who doesn't know, there was an error in the code of gen 2 games that made it so Nidorina or Nidoqueen aren't part of an egg group and can't breed, so rather than fixing it in gen 3 they just doubled down and made it canon to the games (but not the anime or manga), despite Nidorina's dex entry talking about it raising young.
starlite
MemberIt wasn't an error. In the first official Pokemon guidebook from 1996 (only released in Japan), they mentioned that Nidorina and Nidoqueen can no longer lay eggs. So when Gen 2 released 3 years later, they intentionally removed them from any egg groups to stick with the canon from the official guidebook.
