Rabie Baby in action. :3

Not too fond of the name I would have gone with somethig like Catty Batty but I will say she's probably my fave NCr design so far. Largely because anthropomorphized bats are kind of a rarity in general & are seldomly depicted in media.

People might think the Nightmare Critters is MOB double-dipping & milking their own IP (which is entirely likely) but it's still a fun concept & is completely in character for a toy company like Playtime Co. to do. Lest we forget the real life analogues like the "Who Cares Bears" or the "Decepticons". Every toy brand in the 80s had to have that equally marketable foil to the main cast. xD

I think is ok for them to milk the critters as long as they justify their existence with an interesting story.

It'll be interesting to see how they're incorporated. In-universe the Smiling Critters toy line was a massive failure after the Catnap incident so this up incoming Nightmare Critter toy line was likely canceled and what few toys were produced were likely dumped into this new level. It'll be interesting if we'll get any Bigger Body versions.

From something I heard Rabie was ment to be a reference to rabies. Something bats to carry sometimes. And the baby part is likely to rime with Rabie and maybe because people call people baby’s as an insult and there thing is just being negative and having negative traits.

I wounder if there like a Halloween event playtime co made or something. A spooky twisted form of there beloved smiling critters or maybe a prototype smiling critters

I understand the name is in reference to bats carrying rabies I'm just not fond of the name personally. It also kind of breaks from the naming convention since most of the Critters names tended to incorporate their animal names into their names. Even the idea that the NCr names are meant to incorporates negative traits as part of their name kind of breaks down with Allister Gator. Idk. IMO "Rabie Baby is just kind of an awkward name to say & doesn't really reflect on the character traits all that well. A name like "Bratty Batty" would have been a lot more appropriate but that's just my own opinion.

My running theory is that these were meant to be foils that would act as antagonists to the Smiling Critters that never saw a public release following the Catnap incident. Following the incident & duo subsequent failures of the show & the OG SC toy line Playtime Co. likely just quietly canceled The NCr toy release & whatever toys made were all likely dumped in the underground location in Ch4.

Ngl. I do like that name more. Though the other critter on this comic dosnt follow that naming thing eather.
