Also that folklore was tame and had bit of Wolf's Children vibe.

Myths are fucked up, so the Johto myth would be fucked up

  • It's hard to understand pokémon fandom.

While some correctly realize that this is not canon, or at least they know that not all typhlosion are predators

Others do it as a meme like a real predator or literally illustrating that text (https://e621.net/posts/5114957), without realizing that this shit is not official !!!!

Canon, not really. Official, kinda. Literal, probably not but maybe, it's a world of real-life myths and monsters.

The dumb part to me is the idea that any modern-day Typhlosion would be implicated as the culprit of a fable that's presumably hundreds if not thousands of years old. I mean, I get that some people are just memeing but some really, really aren't.

    Considering:
    1. Pokemon Diamond has a NPC that talks about how Humans and Pokemons married (localized to "eat on the same table")
    2. All the dark entries in pokedex
    3. The PRODUCER of Black and White HIMSELF stating it's unknown who N's parents are and they might be pokemons...

    Well... It might be canon.
