  • What is that at the base of the blue's cock? A second prehensile penis? His tail? A tentacle?

The reason why this picture is tagged herm.

  • Someone added the gay tag and removed the herm tag. Quit it. You can SEE the prehensile clitoral hood of the herm sergal.

    I see a weird tentacle.
It looks nothing like a clitoral hood.
You have no way of knowing that's a clitoral hood without external knowledge.

lolwat? Sergal clitoral hoods open up and are very tentacle-y.
It looks far less like a dick than a sergal's clitoral hood.

Knowing what a sergal's clitoral hood is supposed to look like is external knowledge to the image itself.
twys is the tagging rule on this website, it looks like a tentacle, it gets tagged as one, not as a clitoral hood.

Without any external knowledge we wouldn't know it's a sergal in the first place, or the thing they're on is a tree. Our entire concept of reality is shaped from what we know. The point of twys is to not introduce uncommon invisible knowledge into tags, but as sergals are a popular species and are commonly seen with prehensile clitoral hoods like in this image, it would be responsible to tag it as such. The image should, however, not be tagged herm because although the vagina is implied, it is not visible. Such is life in communist e621.

Saying this post should not be tagged prehensile_clitoral_hood is a push on invalidating the tag itself, which is currently used 115 times.
    Some examples:

Where's that weird tentacle coming from in those images? It certainly is a mystery!

    Bonus Round!
Argument from blacklisting: This image will appear for someone that has blacklisted prehensile_clitoral_hood. Obviously they know what it is if blacklisted, and obviously they don't want to ever see one. Well they're going to see this and ask "why wasn't it tagged?".
Argument from searchability: This post will not appear in a search for "sergal prehensile_clitoral_hood", but it would be expected by the searcher. Some sergal artists omit the appendage but this image absolutely has one.

On the contrary, there's nothing wrong with the tag when it's clearly a clitoral hood from what is visible in the image.
That's just not the case here.

Knowing what a sergal looks like is also external knowledge. The point is that it can be SEEN. So by the "tag what you see" rule applies to it.

The clitoral hood is blue, just like the sergal, so we know it part of the sergal. It is where it would be if he was a herm. Female sergals also don't always have breasts (in the original canon, they didn't). So the sergal having a flat chest doesn't necessarily mean it is male. I frequently look for herm images, and was surprised I hadn't found this before, so I changed the tags.

I'd be happier about this if an admin made a decision, rather than having a tag war with a privileged member.

  • Male/gay tags stay. A small tentacle near the junk does not designate a gender. Any more tag warring will result in broken fingers.

And Halite, you have met your tag war quota, please just submit a ticket next time.

I gotta say I didn't even think of a tentacle there, knowing that it's a Sergal.

Neither did I. Glad I stayed out of the tagwar - it really does look like a tentacle now that it has been suggested.

Ohh. Right. Gotta go and put "cuntboy" tag on an all female ferals. And also on species like Charrs. And on all original-style breastless female Sergals.
