Cats 'n' Briefs - Christmas Day (2023)
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from the Cats 'n' Briefs house to you guys all!! Here's a picture we did last year featuring a bunch of our characters!
Here's a little poem we did last year to accompany this picture, we hope you guys enjoy!
Poem
"On the eve of Christmas, there lies within the sprawling city, a household filled to the brim with cats galore
These folks, all of them distinct and defined, and some of them with packages to adore
All of them packed into the living room, standing or sat upon the hardwood floor
With the stockings hanging above the mantle place, the names of these denizens lay
From Eddie & Tidbits, to Mateo & Bombo, to Lerrel & Asliere, a marvelous set of names to display
Each with their own story, all of them ready to speak it on this wonderful Christmas day
But would it be inopportune to mention that they are all quite a bit gay?
A present, from father to son, given in a beautifully wrapped box
Exclaimed the son, "Papi, you're as hard as a rock!"
The father, flushed from the statement, retorted, “It’s my present to you, hijo that I oh-so love.”
Eddie perked up, and went in for a deep hug, receiving pats to the head from above
Meanwhile, cookies from the chef, given or passed to each and everyone
To all the smiling faces, nomming delicious wafers 'til it's done
Except for the poor lynx, pulled by his leash & restrained by his collar,
As his dragon handler corrects him: "Not until after supper.”
And in the corner, tiger and cat snuggled by the Christmas tree
Whispering in the ear of the Siamese, "It's so nice to have you all up on me."
The Siamese, looking back at the larger figure
Snuggled up closer, his heart feeling much bigger
On this Christmas Eve, let it be known this;
That Cats 'n' Briefs will spend this night full of singing, warmth, and bliss
Filled with love and caring and, of course, a kiss
The feelings of today, all of them, will be something to reminisce."
This year has been a bit of a nightmare from both of us. We just want to vent a bit and say that this year didn't go as we planned and we're super frustrated with what happened with us overall. Less posting, less drawing overall, etc. We want to change it for next year and start being more open, more focused and less time doing things we shouldn't be focusing on and prioritizing on things that actually matter more. It was a very eye-opening experience but we nonetheless are learning and plan on changing things up for next year. We don't want a repeat of this year where we barely had anything to share and want to be much MUCH more consistent with posting and interacting.
Thank you sincerely to all that are sticking by us, either through commissions or Patreon or just watching us. It helps us keep pushing on through and that means so much to us, we don't want to stop what we're doing and want to make sure we're happy doing what we love. ♥
Again, Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas to all you lovely cats and other critters!! We appreciate the love you guys give us so much and we want to share it back as best as we can. 😸
