So; 175 EUR for a series of images involving your character. Judging by usual comic lengths by WN, 5 to 11 images might be involved. Let's say 8.

That is 21.8 EUR per image involved.

What hourly rate should we assume for an artist? How long does it take to draw someone else's char? I admit, I don't know – how much would you like to be paid per hour? And remember, things like taxes etc. do exist, and they might differ from your country.

Shall we take a comparatively low(*) rate of 30 EUR/h (charged; not paid out, remember!)? That's ~40 minutes per person and image – and not even factoring in backgrounds etc. Given you get drawn by "Wolfy-fucking-Nail", do you really feel that 22 bucks per image is really that much to charge? I bet if it was just *one* image going for 25 EUR a pop, the outrage would be considerably smaller. ;) And if it's a longer sequence of images than 8 the cost per image and person drops further (11 images, perhaps? 15 EUR/image.)

(*) "Comparatively low" -- he's a fairly wellknown furry artist. Being famous drives prices up and after subtracting costs of doing business from the 30EUR/h, what ends up in the bank account is less.

So in summation I think a nice cup of "sit back and THINK before you whine" is a good thing to have.

What if i told you im not a fan? Just willing to admit that hes ungodly popular? (I am preferential to traditional art. Paul Lucas is the man i adore). French-kissed by the God of Art does sum up his popularity accurately.

Of course he would say that. If he wasnt modest, people would see him as... lets say, less than desireable.

I'll believe its possible for him to be surpassed when i see it happen.

This isnt to say that one cannot like other people, or feel that his art is inferior to others (Paul Lucas or Hattonslayden > Wolfy-nail all day long.), but they are, in the end, just our individual opinions. Not the results of statistics.

all wolfy nail does, is making his pictures realistically somewhat correct.

He's charging 200$ to put your character in his image. You don't privately get the image; you don't get to decide it's content; you only get to have your own character put in his creation. For 200$. For one image. I wouldn't call it unreasonable but i also wouldn't call it reasonable, yknow?

You get the image, the high res for yourself.

The people who bought in had a say in what they got for their picture.

200$ for 1 image, and a story by me (and I'm not a cheap writer)

I wouldn't call it the deal of the century, but I'd definitely say these people got their money's worth. :D
