News: Feb 26, 2025 Show

Feb 26th:A new bill in Arizona is making its way through the Senate that would force sites like e621 to implement mandatory age verification for all users—or face potential lawsuits. This system would require third-party vendors to verify every user’s age through a government database. Not only is this a massive violation of privacy, but it also introduces serious risks, including identity theft through phishing schemes and other malicious methods. Worse still, we would have no control over ensuring that user data is permanently deleted after verification.

Since e621 operates out of Arizona, this law would almost certainly impact us if it passes. If you want to help ensure that we can continue serving you without being forced to collect personal information, we urge you to contact Arizona’s senators and ask them to vote NO on this bill.

Please help spread the word about this issue and encourage others to take action.
Further information on the bill itself can be found at the Free Speech Coalition: https://action.freespeechcoalition.com/bill/arizona-hb-2112/

His website is 404 because he already retired.

I want him back. He was a true innovator in the world of art.

I do too, but if he's happy with whatever he's doing now, i'm happy with it. Sure, i may never see his art style anywhere again, but i would much rather him stop and be happy, rather than to continue what he's doing and feel bad/be inconvenienced. Godspeed, you magnificent bastard.

I suppose you are correct. I rather a person be happy than feel obligated to make others happy.

It may sound a bit out of context, but you know the old video game saying "graphics don't matter"? Well usually I don't agree with that because I feel that Triple A titles that have a lot of work put into them over several years should have extremely good graphics if the art style supplements it, especially nowadays. (Eg. Fallout 4)

But in the case of Pokehidden, his artstyle actually begs for gameboy-esque graphics and even GBA style music. And as such, it would not matter to me if his images were not as high res as they are, so I see him as a true innovator in that philosophy of "graphics don't matter", even in the event that his style is adopted by Triple A developers.

Regardless of the overall effort put into games of this art style, or how long it took to create them, the graphics truly wouldn't matter. Especially with the hidden scenes, Easter eggs, and other fun little tid-bits that are usually included in his work anyway.

Even his humor and dialogue was spot-on and enjoyable 100% of the time, and Naughty Dog (among other companies) can't even get that right with high paid writers.

So if Pokehiddn ever sees this comment (which he probably won't) my final thought for him is that he truly was an inspiration and innovator in the field of art.

    Godspeed sir, Godspeed indeed.
