April 10th: The bill has been vetoed!
April 2nd: The politicians in Arizona are about to sign into law a bill that would mandate sites like e621 to either impose age verification on all users or be at a risk of lawsuits. Such system would be required to go through third party vendors, who in turn must go through a government database to verify every user's age. This is not only a major violation of privacy, but it also opens up a very real danger of identity theft through phishing schemes and other methods, not to mention that we would not be able to control any of that information to make sure it is permanently deleted after age verification is complete.
Unfortunately, Arizona is the state out of which e621 operates, which means that this law will almost certainly affect us if it is to pass. If want to help us ensure that this site can continue to serve you without being required to know who you are, please ask the Arizona governor to veto this bill.
Please, help us get the word out by letting others know about this issue.

MemberI just had this thought. When do you think they're going to just stop making Lucario porn, and to a greater extent, Pokemon porn?
Like what do you think is going to be the very, very last lewd Lucario pic ever to be drawn? When will it be drawn?
Will somebody in humanity always be drawing Lucario porn until humanity as we know it ceases to exist? Or will Lucario porn just fizzle out one day, lose popularity, and just not be drawn any more?
I'm not saying this because I have some beef with Lucario porn, I just had this thought and I thought it was curious

MemberI'm not trying to force my way into this, I just think since you're comment was non-aggressive and encouraging of discussion (Which I applaud), I want to be able to explain why so many talented artists spend their time breathing life into this character.
I think it's just important to remember that many people are admire and appreciate Lucario, in the same way that you enjoy looking at porn of characters that better fit your taste. Not that I'm accusing you of disliking him, of course, you said that you didn't, It's just that when you make a comment pondering the, to put it bluntly, "death" of a character and any interest in portraying his/her character it only makes since that you may get downvoted.
Once again, try to imagine that some people care about this character as much as you care about others on this site, and you'll understand why things are much more complicated than what you think.

MemberIt may be that it never comes to pass. Think about it: art of Athena is still being created regularly in this day and age, much as it was thousands of years ago.
I know Athena to Lucario might not be the most fair comparison, but the point is that some ideas, characters, etc. might never die.
