Slugcats are a species from the game Rain World, being the only playable species in the game.

They loosely resemble slugs due to their hip-wide tails, but otherwise are usually depicted as close-to-humanoid proportioned mammals with large eyes. Other elements of their physiology regularly vary by artist.

During part of Rain World's development, slugcats were referred to as "Bear Creatures", but according to the Rain World Dev Logs, the species' name was changed to the current one due to a comment on a developer's video, stating “slug cats !!”.
