News: Feb 26, 2025 Show

Feb 26th:A new bill in Arizona is making its way through the Senate that would force sites like e621 to implement mandatory age verification for all users—or face potential lawsuits. This system would require third-party vendors to verify every user’s age through a government database. Not only is this a massive violation of privacy, but it also introduces serious risks, including identity theft through phishing schemes and other malicious methods. Worse still, we would have no control over ensuring that user data is permanently deleted after verification.

Since e621 operates out of Arizona, this law would almost certainly impact us if it passes. If you want to help ensure that we can continue serving you without being forced to collect personal information, we urge you to contact Arizona’s senators and ask them to vote NO on this bill.

Please help spread the word about this issue and encourage others to take action.

Species: minion (despicable me)

Minions are a fictitious race of stocky yellow creatures from Illumination Entertainment's Despicable Me franchise who serve as Gru's minions. These creatures are largely identical to one another, with their main differences being relative body shape and eye count, having one or two eyes. They normally wear goggles and overalls as their main clothing, although they may also wear disguises and other outfits. They are known for being very mischievous and subservient to whatever evil master they follow, which they have served a number of. They also love fruit, especially bananas. They speak their own gibberish language called "Minionese" and tend to have very mundane names. These creatures have become very popular, having appeared in every Despicable Me film (both feature-length and short films) since their 2010 debut and have even received their own feature-length spin-off film called Minions in 2015. They've become Illumination Entertainment's official collective mascots and also appear to be the collective corporate icon of the studio's parent Universal Studios and their overall parent company Comcast.
