Species: afghan hound
The Afghan Hound is a large dog breed that is distinguished by its thick, fine, silky coat and its tail with a ring curl at the end. The breed is selectively bred for its unique features in the cold mountains of Afghanistan. While its coat can be any colour, many Afghan Hounds have a black facial mask pattern.
Afghan hounds were once used as hunting dogs, but this has fallen out of style in favour of using them as showdogs. In addition to this, Afghan Hounds are notorious among breeders and trainers for having a relatively slow obedience intelligence, and requiring repetitions on around 75% of commands issued.
The Saluki is a related hound with much shorter fur.
