Character: shenron
Shenron, also known as Shenlong, or "Divine Dragon" is a magical Dragon from the Dragon Ball franchise.
Shenron (like other known Eternal Dragons) generally resembles a traditional four-toed Chinese dragon: brown antlers, sharp teeth, green scaly skin, red eyes, a long serpentine body of mostly tail, long flowing whiskers, a long snout, crescent-shaped nostrils, and flowing green hair on his cheeks. When Shenron is summoned, the sky becomes pitch dark, even during daytime. Once he disappears, the sky returns to normal.
As with most wish-granting Eternal Dragons, Shenron is a neutral figure who grants any wish within his power regardless of the intent of the wish itself or the nature of his summoner, including evil beings such as King Piccolo (who ended up killing him afterwards) and Garlic Jr. Shenron is normally very courteous and polite, doing his best to grant a wish in a way that will bring the most joy to the summoner. He often advises against impractical wishes and proposes alternatives unless the summoner insists. However, he is known to become impatient and annoyed when the summoner is indecisive or requests something frivolous. Shenron can maintain his physical form for about 15–20 minutes after being summoned. If no wish is made in that time, he will leave, scattering the Dragon Balls across the planet and turning them to stone.
Rules for Shenron’s Wish-Granting:
- If Dende (the creator of the current Dragon Balls) dies, the Dragon Balls will be permanently petrified, effectively killing Shenron permanently.
- Shenron can now grant three wishes, like an actual djinn.
- Shenron cannot bring people back to life if he resurrected them once before.
- Shenron can bring people back to life even if they have been dead for more than a year.
- If someone is brought back to life, they will be restored to their physical state at the time of resurrection unless their body is decomposed. Shenron can also restore the body to a healthy state in addition to resurrecting the dead.
- Shenron can bring multiple people back to life, but if the number is exceptionally large, two out of the three wishes will be used.
- Once all wishes are granted, the Dragon Balls scatter, turn to stone, and become unusable for four months. After this, they reactivate, granting one wish. Shenron gains the ability to grant one additional wish every four months, up to three wishes after a year.
- Shenron can be dismissed early to save unused wishes, though the Dragon Balls will still scatter and petrify.
- Shenron can kill someone, but only if the target is weaker than the creator of the Dragon Balls (Dende).
- Shenron cannot undo the cybernetic enhancements that created Android 17 and Android 18.
- Shenron can grant wishes remotely, with effects occurring on other planets.
- Shenron cannot bring someone back to life if their soul has already been reincarnated.
- If Shenron is killed before returning to the Dragon Balls, they will not scatter.
- If the Dragon Balls are destroyed individually and directly, Shenron will die.
- Shenron can resurrect himself every time his Dragon Balls are used, provided they still exist and his effigy/statue remains intact.
