Artist: pyotr repkin
Repkin Petr Petrovich was a mid-1900's Soviet animator for both comic strips/books and animated shorts. A member of the Cinematographers Union of the USSR, he designed over 200 animation films including A Tale of a Fisherman and a Fish (1950), Buratino’s Adventures (1959), Mowgli (1973), The Seven-Petals Flower, The Little Humpbacked Horse, The Extraordinary Match, etc. For the Malysh and Detskaya Literatura publishing houses, he designed and illustrated about 100 books for children, including the famous Tale of Calif Stork by Wilhelm Hauff. He also designed popular film strips Two Greedy Bear Cubs; Gray Brow Cat, the Goat, and the Ram; Little Sparrow; Puppy; Khoma Hamster Stories. He participated in all-union and international exhibitions.
He was born in Moscow in 1914, and died in Moscow in 1995.
