object ingestion

Object ingestion describes a character orally consuming an inanimate, non-food object.

Usually, this involves the character swallowing the object whole, less commonly, the character may bite off piece of the object, chew up the object, and swallow the chewed pieces or remains of the object.

This tag should not be confused with or applied to depictions of a character merely deep throating an object, where the object being held and inserted into the mouth/throat, simulating fellatio. This tag requires the object being actively eaten or swallowed, if not already inside of the character's body, as well as characters implicitly having ingested, and regurgitating the previously ingested object. This tag can also apply to technically edible items being consumed whole - such as a character swallowing a whole egg.

Object ingestion may be shown in a humorous context, with a character gleefully eating absurdly inedible objects, or alternatively, accidentally swallowing an object. A character might intentionally eat objects to stuff themselves or to satisfy their hunger - either swallowing a large number of inanimate objects, or a single, very large object, causing their belly to bloat. Characters may also ingest objects to store them in their stomach, this is usually shown alongside the use of other orifices to store items.

An ingested object may end up being regurgitated, pass through the digestive tract and excreted intact, or end up digested in the stomach; however, few images explicitly show the fate of ingested items, and any result is usually only conveyed by dialogue, or implied by digestive noises.

Object Ingestion Vs. Object Vore

The line between these two tags can be fuzzy, object ingestion is often associated with vore, and object ingestion can appeal to vorarephiles.

Posts tagged as object ingestion may also feature vore elements - such as a character shown consuming an object, and telling another character to "go in after it", or threatening that another character is next to be eaten - posts like this are better tagged as imminent vore and object ingestion, rather than object vore. Object ingestion, unlike object vore, specifically applies to oral consumption of inanimate objects, while object vore can apply to more exotic means of consumption.

Object vore should ideally be applied when characters are ingested with objects, characters transformed into objects, or when a character who is animate inanimate (and leaning towards the inanimate in appearance) is consumed by another; object vore is most often applied to when a character consumes an object that explicitly or implicitly, holds living beings - such as a planet, building, or vehicle - as well as objects like a pokéball or a magic lamp that holds living creatures or characters as energy or magic.
