One of the Major Arcana defined in tarot. In typical portrayals, the Lovers are a naked male/female pair, with archangel Raphael looking from above, standing in a landscape reminiscent of the Garden of Eden. Near the woman is a tree bearing forbidden fruit with a serpent entwined around it, near the man is a tree covered in flame.

In cartomancy, the upright Lovers arcanum is interpreted as love, harmony, relationships, shared values, and choices.
The reversed Lovers arcanum is interpreted as self-love, disharmony, imbalance, and incompatible values.
