Species: pictus catfish

The Pictus Catfish is a small member of the Catfish family Pimelodidae, it is native to the Amazon and Orinoco river basins and is commonly kept as a pet in many freshwater aquariums. Like all Catfish, the most distinguishing feature of the Pictus Catfish is it's long whiskers or barbels, these barbels are extremely long and can even extend down to the tail fin. Pictus catfish don't have scales, but they do have sharp spines along their dorsal and pectoral fins.
