Hovercrafts are any vehicles capable of lifting off of the ground or water surfaces but not true flight (for that see aircraft). This is accomplished by various means which includes concepts such as air cushion, thrusters, magnetism, anti-gravity, and magic among many other things.

In real life hovercrafts are a type of amphibious vehicle that uses air cushion to hover above land and water surfaces.
