A sign language or signed language is a non-verbal language that involves communication with hand movements, facial expressions and/or body movement. While it may be used by deaf people or people who have a harder time hearing, sign language may also be used by those who are mute or by others who wish to communicate with others who use sign language. Sign language is not universal and will vary upon the country for what kind is used; for example, American Sign Language (ASL), which is used in the United States and several other countries including Canada, won't go by the same rules as British Sign Language (BSL), which is used in the United Kingdom.
