Topic: Accidents and their consequences

Posted under General

as everyone knows. nothing is perfect, nothing is made to last. everything can break or get broken.
example planes, most of the time they bring you safe to the destination, they are considered the safest and fastest way to travel. but accidents happen be it human side or machine. maybe the pilot did something wrong. maybe something went into the turbine. what i am saying is planes still crash or disappear (mh370). otherwise pilot's fault, machine, or a third side (missiles, weather, ufo, illuminati).
cars. less safer than planes but cheaper and more used. today car's are like computers on wheel do all the math for you, but still we have accidents. we cannot influence them, it can be a another vehicle, an animal on the road, kids in the streets, weather. unpredictable. today modern cars are made safe, crumble zone is the place on a car that absorbs impact so the passengers feel less force. the whole front or back (crumble zones) are all deformed or destroyed but for the price of your life.

but lets get to the point
"i make mistakes because i'm a human. i'm not a human if i don't make mistakes"
humans make mistakes, big or small. but we learn from them and improve ourselves, make us stronger

fast forward
recently on e621 i made a mistake and Accidently uploaded a post which was commissioned by a DNP artist. after 2 days or so i got banned/blocked for 3 days to upload, post comments, edit tags, post on forum. thats like a human without arms, legs, eyes, ears. a tomato. i'll be honest i had also accidently uploaded dns art (2 times before, so 2 records). but our moderators, admins are there to correct us, warn us, teach us, punish us.

thanks to all the mods/admins for spending their time to maintain this website. i contribute my part by uploading, tagging, edit wiki, and other parts. i apologise for making you trouble having to remove the post which was DNP. i do my best to not upload them.

i understand blocking a user from uploading for few days. but a permanent ban is something that would make me cry/suicide/depression because i love this website and i visit on a daily basis

Mmmmm... Yes, you're right. 100% right.
I use this website mostly for comminucating. I was a paheal addict before.

at paheal you can only tag characters and shows, while .xxx and e621 can tag more.

Ouch! You should watch out on what you post next time. I take extra caution when I repost someone's art by checking their name on the DNP list, looking at their journals to see if they wrote anything on reposting and sometimes asking them first before doing anything.

But hey, we ARE only human!

Go to the feature request thread and ask for an upload-only temporary ban option. Or just don't do it a 4th and 5th time

I like to protect my image on e621, but it's not like I have to dedicate my life to this website. I choose to because I want to. I love the activity just as much as I love the variety of artwork uploaded here on a daily basis.

We slip up at times and get reprimanded for them, whether we see it coming or not. The important thing is to keep moving forward.

For example, I recently got a Neutral record for linking an image of a Shiba Inu dog getting lynched (an image intended to reflect my absolute hatred of the stupidity that is the Doge meme). I didn't even care, but I know better than to continue with that.

I'm a Privileged user after all. And I became one a few months within first making my account. I just asked NotMeNotYou (through his email address) because I did a lot of work and wanted the upgrade to continue to do so. He acknowledged that, I thank him for that, and hope to do my part to keep a positive image through my often witty comments, uploads, and tagging.

Well, I too have made accidents about a long time ago. I managed to get 2 artists on the DNP list because I didn't ask them before posting their stuff.

But when I DID, they got mad at me and took all their stuff down.

So now, I'm really self-conscious of what(from whom) I post. I still regret that till this day.

General suggestions for not getting hit with deleted posts/DNP records:

  • If you know you uploaded DNP, flag the image as soon as possible. If you flag your own you will not get a record for it.
  • Make a point to always tag the artist. Tagging the artist helps familiarize yourself with their art and it's a good habit to get into. It helps prevent unwanted surprises as you have another chance to see whether they are DNP (check for the avoid_posting or conditional_dnp tags being added automatically).
  • I highly recommend using eSix Extend for a number of reasons, but in this context it will warn you if you try to tag an artist that is DNP (before you upload it).
  • If you can't find the art in any of their galleries, don't post it. It may be commercial or they may have deleted it and may not want it on here. The first will get you DNP records and the latter may end up in deletions.
  • If you aren't sure if they want their art on here, ask. I've seen far too many takedowns* related to uploaders who didn't ask first.
    • If you want to be extra careful, extend this to character owners and commissioners. This is particularly helpful if you want to maintain your upload limit.

*Only a small percentage of these takedowns actually end up being put on the avoid posting list. Most are just an image or two.
