Since canine and feline are species tags, so should be viverrid.
I'd change it but I get permission denied error.

Why you don't do it yourself?
Because it's already a general tag.
'Tag type cannot be changed: Permission Denied when trying to change tag "viverrid" to type species'
This is what I get if I try to change 'viverrid' to 'species:viverrid' on a post.

regular members cannot change the type of tag if the tag count is higher than 100. i think that only admins can do it.
