Topic: OMG mates use local links :O

Posted under General

Getting the site to do this automatically based on a configurable list of domains is actually on my todo list. Ideally I'd like to include a way to override that in case someone wants to link to one of them specifically (think bug report for e926), but I'm not quite at that point yet.

Actually, it's possible:

"You just have to do this":/user/show/200

Unless you're thinking to do it like the other "tags" we use: forum #171668, blip #1234, post #12345, thumb #12345

It's possible to do but I'd like it to make using other domains more streamlined. As it is right now, any time someone is linked to a page like http://www.e621.net/user/show/200 on e9 they move over to e6. forum #1234 blip #1234 etc. are set to use relative links, but the full links are kind of annoying if you try to stay within e9.

I remember suggesting something like that (using "user #1234" to link to user pages), it must be somewhere inside of The Feature Request Thread]

I wish I could make it more seamless with usernames (particularly for using it with blips and quotes) but a simple link at least would be pretty easy to do.

Well, it's a direct link and browsers do what they gotta do: follow it.

That was with the suggestion I did in forum #51781 (found it, read #2) and even gave a script (which is really old I even feel ashamed :/). Also, I don't know what would be difficult, I mean, you can do a link to e.g. https://e621.net/user/show?name=username which in turn can be relative: /user/show?name=username

Mebbe I'm just rambling now :I

Well when you put it like that...

One of these days we definitely need to make a proper show by name method to hook everything into. It would make things like this so much easier to implement.

Btw, I did push some changes regarding #1 a couple weeks ago. :P
