Topic: Which e621 tools do you use?

Posted under e621 Tools and Applications

I've just updated e621:tools to be a comprehensive list of the tools posted in the forum. I'd like to get an idea of which ones are most popular, or at least known to still work, so that they can be moved to the top of the lists.

So, which tools do you use?

e621 reverse image search utility (original release thread for this tool on the forum was here.)

Whoops, missed that one. Added.

Oh it was purple.beastie

Don't worry, the gradient tool is in there too. I just stuck it under the Other category. :)

I'm going to take this as confirmation that both of those still work.

"tag counter greasemonkey script" is actually defunct, and "tagging greasemonkey script" is probably defunct as well (I haven't tested it but I would be surprised if it worked at all).

None listed there, AFAICS. I would use E6Extend if Greasemonkey/Tampermonkey didn't stop firefox from starting.

I use my own tools occasionally, which I haven't made specific posts about:
* e6autotag (uses md5sums of on-disk images to look them up in e621 and apply TMSU tags. Does not apply all tags listed on e621 by default, only ones that exist locally)
* the ThumbsDown script I posted a week ago, which lets you click on thumbs to make a selection, and download the original image for each of them

I also have another ThumbsDown script that assists tagging -- it just outputs urls pointing at the posts. The idea is to turn off downloading in DownThemAll and instead use it as a kind of queuing system -- you can line up thousands of posts, if need be, to have a certain tag applied. You export to a text file in a certain directory, named according to the tags that should be applied, eg 'anthro.txt' or '-feral.txt' and a daemon picks that change and automatically applies those taggings ASAP (accounting for hourly tagging limits).

I don't use that one any more though.

Just curious, does the newest version of Greasemonkey work?

none, e621 is simple and easy enough for me to use as is, without any tools like those listed.

that reminds me...i don't even know when i first installed greasemonkey. unless it updates automatically, i don't know if i've ever updated it either but i don't think i've ever had any problems with it.

parasprite: I'll give it a go, but be aware I have retried it plenty of times as GM has developed

treos: it's almost certainly something hokey in my profile -- I successfully ruled out 'conflicting addon' but don't know beyond that. Sticking it in a fresh profile works okay IIRC(but of course I'm not gonna switch profile just to get GM going)

E6 is generally pretty nice but some things grate (like restriction of tag scripting).
