Note: The system didn't allow this suggestion since muzzle is aliased to something else, so I manually created this thread.

muzzle is currently aliased to muzzled, but this has caused mistagging when a user means to tag a character's snout instead. I think making it a disambiguation tag will help ensure a post is tagged with the right meaning of "muzzle".

While we're here, should muzzled implicate snout? (Keeping in mind that muzzle_(object) shouldn't be affected since it doesn't necessitate the muzzle being worn)

Thanks! Actually, now that you've removed the alias, muzzle is effectively already a disambiguation of sorts. I suppose converting to muzzle_(disambiguation) could still be helpful for cleanup via a *_(disambiguation) search.

I'm not so sure on this. Is muzzle (snout) really all that valuable of a search term? It seems like it's one of those things that will be tagged inconsistently, at best, and even if it's tagged, who's really going to search for it? If it's not aliased to muzzle_(object), it's essentially worthless, and I'd be in favor of invalidating it.

I realize I may have been unclear; my original idea was for muzzle to alias to muzzle_(disambiguation), which would then be manually sorted into snout and muzzle_(object), or otherwise removed.

I personally don't find snout to be an essential tag, and indeed it's currently tagged quite inconsistently due to its relative obscurity and somewhat subjective definition, but I think that if we invalidate that sense of muzzle then we may as well invalidate snout altogether.
