Aliasing quills → spines

Reason:

Same body covering.

-1 to an alias

they are not really the same thing, quills are really closer related to fur then anything else, quills are hairs with a thicker karatin shell then normal that can be detached, spines as they are tagged here tend to be bony horn like protrusions that are not detachable and usually do not cover the whole body like a furcoat as quills do.

Agree. I use spines for scalies, never quills, for example.

That doesn't match the current wiki definition of spines, though. Generally, back spines on scalies and such tend to get tagged as spikes.

We'd probably need to disambiguate at least one of those. And with that many posts, it'll be a while before anyone gets around to it.

I was actually under the impression that there was still some dabate over the precise definition of a number of tags that describe pointy protrusions on the body and slightly overlap, that includes tags such as spikes, barbs, thorns, ridges and spines. thru such a debate i cant seem to find. worth pointing out that the present spikes wiki does not describe a anatomical feature at all at present. regarding the spines wiki it is worth pointing out that it does note parts of the body while quills tend to fully cover the whole body. Thru more then likly the wiki is outdated it self, what people use spines for is completely different both visually and biologically from what quills are which is the reason for my opposition to this.
