Scentplay: Acts relating to smells or odor, such as musk, farting, etc.

so in my goal (for whatever reason) today of contributing to the forums/tags/wiki. Here is some stuff:

crotch_sniffing (12) (example) -> Scentplay (example)

underwear_sniffing (32) (example) -> Scentplay

butt_sniffing (29) (example) -> Scentplay

there are many many other scent related tags too that should also be aliased. (but im too lazy to continue the format i was doing, but you get the idea)

sock_sniffing
farting
musk
foot_sniffing

these are the only ones i could find after i tried about 10 that came up with nothing.

scentplay is the most common word i know regarding this stuff.
(like how tailplay relates to things related to...well, tails)

+1 to scentplay. I think this tag might be incredibly useful for us in the long run as it encompasses everything from smelly gasses, feet, musk/odors, etc. One of the issues I ran into when sorting the fart and fart-related tags is it was missing a more broad tag like this for other odors.

Even as far as fart fetishes go, that comic was ridiculous.

The one thing that seems odd to me is that behaviors like butt-sniffing for dogs would be qualified as "scentplay". Maybe it's just the word, but it... I don't know. It seems similar to if we implicated dialogue to "soundplay", or books to "sightplay". It's a form of communication and social ritual, so... I don't know. That said, I can see the utility of having some sort of tag for a focus on smells in a picture.

although you do make a good point, unless they both happen to be fully feral dogs i dont see it as a ritual, its more like just for the sexual part i think.

Well what about in the case where they ARE both fully feral dogs then? We have plenty of feral-only art on the site. To my understanding, an implication must work in all cases, so even a very small number of problematic cases can be a problem for an implication. So I think we either have to say "butt sniffing should not be implicated to scentplay", or "two feral dogs butt-sniffing is scentplay after all". Though I may be wrong on this policy of course.

I'd honestly just do something like this:

• sniffing
• butt_sniffing
• fart_sniffing
• feet_sniffing
• penis_sniffing
• sock_sniffing
• scentplay
• fart_fetish/fart_sniffing

That way we can leave the scentplay tag for clear-cut cases while still being able to organize the rest of them.

That seems reasonable to me. Though I think it should be "foot_sniffing", no? That seems to be the tag that's in use at the moment, though admittedly only for 13 posts or something.

And on that note, should that have a "foot_fetish" implication?

Agreed (I'm typing from my phone right now so my ability to organize tags is kind of limited).
