Topic: Tag Implication: doubutsu_sentai_zyuohger -> super_sentai

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

In Super Sentai, the team's name (Zyuohger) is meant to be a proper noun and no translation is necessary.
The team's title (Doubutsu Sentai) is sometimes translated and sometimes left alone, but since there's sometimes more than one valid translation (and no official translation exists to my knowledge), it's simpler to use the romanized Japanese name. Come to think of it, what's the standard protocol on E621 for foreign names?

This is more/less how we handle all copyright, character, and artist tags (in order of preference):

  • Official name (English translation)
  • Official non-English name, basic Latin alphabet. Accent marks okay. May be romanization.
  • Unofficial romanization of official non-Latin name
  • Official Non-Latin name (Kana, Cyrillics, and so on) - Artists are probably the only ones with tags like this.

We normally try to do a translated name, but if Zyuohger is the proper name, then I'd say Super_Sentai_Zyuohger.

Doubutsu doesn't translate to "super." Super Sentai is the franchise name.

Also, bump to save this one, but it doesn't seem like much Zyuohger art got uploaded. Probably because that season turned out to be a disappointment quality-wise, sadly.
