Would it be possible to implement a feature like the rest of the internet and make us be able to follow certain artist so that I get a notification via email or on this sites message system?

That'd be sorta like tag subbing, which is a privaleged+ feature

You can use our RSS feed to be notified of any new posts for whatever search you want:
1. Search the site for whatever you want notifications for, like the artist name, or a species you particularly like.
2. Click the RSS feed button in the top-right corner of your browser, or wherever it happens to be.
3. Select "e621 - Posts".
That should subscribe you to the feed, or direct you to a page where you can subscribe to the feed.
