Topic: Deletion Dispute

Posted under General

Recently, NotMeNotYou deleted two of my uploads which were flagged as inferior by other users, but were in fact edits made by the artist/commissioner. I've already contacted the admin in question via dmail, but I haven't received a response within the last 24 hours, so I'm bringing it up here in hopes of resolution.

The posts in question are post #860170 and post #860824 --included are direct image links so you can compare them with the parent posts side-by-side

-The first is an artist-made edit of the fur borders and shading of the original piece. (original) | (edit)
-The second is an edit made by either the artist or the commissioner, increasing the size of the body in relation to the head to give it a more 'mature' look. (original) | (edit)

I've been battling invalid flagging-for-deletion while re-uploading superior versions and edits for some time now, and it's becoming an exercise in tedium to defend what should be a basic endeavor of providing the most clear and high-resolution images available. Hopefully this, along with other hasty flagging, will encourage more careful comparison of uploads in the future.

Oh, and no bad feelings towards NotMeNotYou or anything; they're clearly working their arse off, so I can completely understand the occasional flubbing amidst the rush to review uploads/flags.

Thanks for taking the time to hear me out!

Based on personal experience/observation here and elsewhere:

Posting stuff like this in the forums tends to just trigger drama and slow the process rather than speeding it up. The fastest way to get resolution is to use the proper channels. If you feel things are taking too long (and I really don't think 24 hours on a weekend qualifies given most of the admins are volunteers) then take it to the next step up the chain.

Nah, no drama intended. I'll keep your suggestion in mind for the future.

Speaking of chain of command and proper channels, though, the only list of admins I see is here, which doesn't specify who handles which kinds of requests at a glance. Some kind of custom 'Duties' column with keywords might be helpful to figure out who to send messages to for what issues; it'd be more convenient than poring and re-poring over individual userpages as those duties change and admins swap out.

Yeah, there's still things that aren't necessarily intuitively located, but for the moment check 'Contact Information' section here.

Generally, try to start with the admin that made the decision or took the action, then go from there.

From my experience, you should either shoot him a dmail explaining the situation, or complain openly on the IRC (use buzzwords like "I'm going to kill Nimmy") and have someone else call it to his attention before you even finish writing the dmail.

but that's just me

This is my standard advice for cases like this.

It usually take about 1-2 days before your DMail or ticket is answered.

I dunno, man, I tend to see it happen over night. Like, I only sleep for seven hours, not 24, yet it's enough time for them to have fixed the issue (Though they usually don't actually reply).

I didn't do anything because the page wasn't working, and then I was too busy with Skyrim which is clearly more important at 3AM.

I just posted my first artwork, hoping to get some constructive criticism. I believe it was genuinely a good piece of work, seeing as it was my first attempt with a drawing tablet.

It was 2562155, and I really feel like it should have been kept up. For a beginner, this can be highly discouraging.

First of all, don't just resurrect five year old threads for no good reason.
Second... NotMeNotYou handles post deletion disputes. DM them.
