There's a problem in this: In canon, there is a subspecies of Chakat that is based on skunks, not felines.

i think that implying to mammal would suit better then.. unless theres scalie based chakats too

Those are 'Chakat-kin', not actual Chakats. In the lore they're a rival genetic engineering project, not a subspecies.
Chakat are always feline, therefore the implication seems fine.

People who don't really read into the deep lore (ie, me) won't know they're different species. Chakat skunk exists.

Four of those are group shots featuring Chakats with skunks/skunktaurs, and the fifth one seems like a hybrid. Considering the ears and face, I'd tag that as feline/skunk hybrid.
None of those break the implication, as far as I can see. And it's generally pretty easy to remember that Chakat are felines.
