But no Popular by year. Unless I'm missing something.
And I understand this isn't a question of what's most popular. It's about which pictures excel most in certain categories.
I do support the idea of an event where we vote for such, independent OR official.
Then again, us kinds of people tend to have such radically differing tastes, that I doubt reaching conclusions will be very easy.

I like this idea. It will encourage users to upload good quality images and users to interact more with others

How about there is a voting system based atop of the ranking system? Such as members can only vote for one genre at a time, and then after all the "scores" are added up we can figure out the end results.

Also Best Pony...I'm quite sure this is a large enough grouping to gain its own category.

The point I was trying to make is that the winning picture will probably only have like 100 votes, even if everyone participates. There's just such a wide spectrum of what people like.

Best of Safe
Best of Questionable
Best of Explict
Admin Pick's

The images have to be uploaded in 2013 and only 5 of each rating in the popular images are nominated. The artist of a winning image should be recorded into a little section of the site to show that the artist is an award-winning artist.

Admin's Pick is when the admins pick their favorite image from 2013. Once the admins have chosen, we get to vote which is the best. The admin with the winning image should also be in the little section of the site.

All winners will be recorded into e621 history. We can do this once a year. Any questions?

What if the artist is unknown_artist? And if they're several images of the same artist?

If the artist is unknown, the image is invalid to win. The nominations have to be from different artists. It wouldn't fair if one artist has all the nominations.
