Also the fact that it could refer to a generic literal Firefox, like a Firebird rather than a Phoenix.

Then they wouldn't be using the firefox tag, which is a copyright tag rather than a species tag.

I doubt the browser requires you to think in Russian.

but we do not have special fire_*animal* tags for fiery version of animals.. they are just tagged with the species tag and fire.

The tag implication firefox -> browser (forum #212867) has been rejected by @furrypickle.

Also https://e621.net/forum_topics/15781 and https://e621.net/forum_topics/11293

Rejected these three because 'yes they are the names of several common browsers'. HOWEVER, they are mostly used to tag art involving the logos or the mascots. Not the browsers themselves. The fact they relate to a browser is almost outside trivia, and not directly describing what is seen. In the majority of those images, no browsers are see, referenced or being used.

In contrast, the browser tag is mostly filled with images that show a browser somewhere in it. If we implicate these common brand names, then those less common images would be flooded with "firefox mascot as a cute furry character" images.

I really don't see how that would be at all helpful, not for searches and not for categorization.
