Topic: Tag Implication: penectomy -> genital_mutilation

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

The only trouble is it's currently used for "the act" and "the result". Similar to if castration and eunuch were the same tag. For example, this is tagged with penectomy but doesn't really fit in genital_mutilation (ignoring the story of course ;) ):

I do agree with it being implicated, but we should come up with a different tag for non-gory post-penectomy characters if possible.

Here's a quick summary of our current tags:

  • eunuch - Balls were removed at some point
  • castration - Removing the balls
  • ??? - Penis was removed at some point (currently under penectomy)
  • ??? - Removing the penis (currently under penectomy)
  • nullo - Penis and balls were removed at some point
  • nullification - Removing both the penis and the balls

I'm not going to be able to help too much with this project. It is not the sort of thing I can look at comfortably.

As far as a word which would describe someone who's penis has been removed at some point, I looked but could find no medical term for such a thing. Therefore I vote penisless, because it has a bit of a ring to it, and seems intuitive enough for use.

+1 to all of that, penectomy should be the tag for the process, not the result

there should be a tag which fits both though (process + result), to make things simpler

we could do

  • penectomy
    • penectomy_(process)
    • penectomy_(result)

or similar, but I don't really see that catching on, if at all
-

penisless seems like a..'nice' alternative

we have featureless_crotch

This ties in with our rather unclear policy about tagging things that aren't there though

This also ties in with the genital_trauma suggestion I'd made earlier
