Topic: Male/Male - can it be assumed rather than just in action dependant on criteria?

Posted under Tag/Wiki Projects and Questions

Hey!

I've got a quick question - Would a post that has a presenting male, with a disembodied penis that clearly shows that the disembodied penis has just penetrated the male, be marked as male/male? It doesn't currently show the males penetrating, but if there's a cum drip between the receiving male's ass and the disembodied penis, would that be enough under TWYS rules to mark it as male/male? The wiki does define male/male as including "mating behavior", so I guess it would, but am seeking clarification.

I may be overthinking it, but was just really curious... And want to know for an upload!

I can't see any relevent posts under the tag search "male/male" and "disembodied_penis", but it does meet the criteria matched by the Wiki!

What do you guys think? Thanks!

Somewhat off-topic, but I have noticed several posts tagged male/male, female/female, male/female etc. just because two characters are in the image and nothing sexual is happening. This may be happening more often since when they were aliased from gay, lesbian, straight. Is there a tagging project for checking these?

Parasprite initially gave me a neutral record for nuking those posts, before I pointed out that it was specified as sexual. They clarified that it was not just sexual, but still requires certain interaction(s), before removing said record.

My understanding of the male/male tag is that evidence of romantic and/or sexual interactions between males must be present. If they're just standing around or interacting in ways that are not romantic and/or sexual, the tag shouldn't be there.

And it definitely shouldn't appear on solo images.

I've noticed a similar issue.

One example is in post #936126, an after_sex image which was inexplicably tagged with sex as well. I'm not sure if feral_on_feral or interspecies also applies, so I left those alone for now.

If it had been tagged with male/female, I'm not sure what I would have done.

I'll find some examples later. Right now I'm not too sober.

But I can say I'm talking about very tenuous or non-existent connections between two characters in one image. And the problem seems widespread because I notice it when I'm not looking for it, and the nature of "gender/gender" or import of tags from other booru sites could lead users to use them incorrectly.

Allow me to correct myself then: before tag nazism occurs, I was corrected on the use before. While I can't clarify, I will assume that it is supposed to be physical contact that isn't in a minor scope (handshakes, arm wrestling, slapping in the face, etc.).

Well, I've tagged Male/Male for now, until we have a definitive answer. Would be good to get a full clarification on this along with a tagging project for checks.

dat mistagging

we have solo male pics tagged as male/male (regardless of whether or not a disembodied penis is present) and we have actual male/male pics with multiple characters tagged as solo. this is a big mess.

post #1089821 m/m solo or solo male?

post #1098478 and then theres some pics like this that are hard to use such tags on in general.

solo: When a post only features one character.

Single character, therefore it cannot be m/m.

Clearly not solo. Report anyone who mistags these consistently.

Each multi-image scene is tagged separately. Which does make such tagging projects harder. I recommend using solo male/male -multiple_images -multiple_scenes for the search, instead of just solo male/male.

seems to be a lot under "male/male solo -disembodied_penis" leading me to believe there's been a fair amount of mistagging. Time to cleanup!

On the final one, it's still a mistag - solo means only one character on the post. solo_focus is a better tag to use for this, right?

If by the final one you mean this one:

then the solo tag is correct. The post contains several types of images:

  • solo (top left)
  • duo solo_focus (top center)
  • duo (second one down on the left)

As Genjar said, these all get tagged individually.

If you're interested in this project, another search I would suggest would be:

solo ~male/male ~male/female -animated -comic -multiple_images

This would help you track down some more. :)

Not that it makes the tagging any less wrong, but I suspect some of those solo m/m are getting tripped up by the aliasing of "gay" to m/m, because the uploader knows (or believes) that the character is gay.

Which is just another kind of wrong tagging, of course, as absent actual sexual activity (or even with it, for bisexuals) a character's sexual preferences aren't TWYS.
