Requested feature overview description.

Upvoting/downvoting forum posts, similar to the comments section on image board posts.

Why would it be useful?

Allowing registered users to upvote and downvote forum responses could grant users an easier way to vocalize their support (or lack thereof) for a particular response without having to leave a response of their own. A good thought, comment, or suggestion would presumably be upvoted while destructive or negative responses would likely be downvoted. Basically, forum responses would be treated very much like comments.

What part(s) of the site page(s) are affected?

The e621 forum page and all threads in it.

I may be wrong, but I think voting in forums was once-upon-a-time a feature before being removed.

Right or wrong, -1 from me. Don't see any real usefulness from it myself.

Not everything needs voting. Can't really see it being much use.

Nope, that wasn't a feature, at least not since I've been here.
But still, -1 from me. Forum posts and comments are two different concepts. Comments are for commenting and will be downvoted if its a shitty comment, forum posts are about discussion and isn't meant to silence those who are in a discussion because their statement was bad.

Another -1. It'd only serve to annoy users in general discussion and art talk.

As for tagging discussions: the staff evaluates tagging changes based on the merit and functionality, not popularity. Voting would lead to situations where users would think that something's okay to tag (or delete) simply because their suggestion got upvotes.

I get the feeling I may have suggested a bad idea. Alright. I'm willing to accept the verdict. I think I'll go put myself in the corner for a while, I'll be there if anyone needs me.
