Topic: [Feature] Replace "Join Date" on profiles with "Joined <duration> ago"

Posted under Site Bug Reports & Feature Requests

Requested feature overview description.
Add "joined x years, x months ago" or similar to the "Join Date" field on user profiles, possibly removing the date itself.

Why would it be useful?
In the same way that knowing how long ago posts or comments were created is useful. Knowing how long a user has been with the site is more immediately useful than knowing the date on which they joined.

What part(s) of the site page(s) are affected?
User profile page (e621.net/user/show/######)

I really don't see a difference. I joined this website on this account almost a year ago. It doesn't make it hard to read that I joined a year ago. Why change something that doesn't need to be changed?

idk, could be good if it would like show up when you hover the join date but i think that replacing join date with that completely would be dumb.

It could just be an option in someone's settings for how they see it when the page loads.

Actually, that's not a bad idea. Make a setting in the setting page that would allow you to hover over a date and change it to duration.

I suppose that wouldn't be too invasive. I much prefer the date display, but this wouldn't change much.

this

Other sites do have this as a option
where you can switch between "fuzzy" dates or specific dates.

Why not both?

Just have it say "Join Date: MM/DD/YY (X days/months/years ago)"

Just put it in parenthesis after the date.

Pretty sure that's how FA does it. I'm for this.
