Topic: Crossovers you would like to see

Posted under General

This topic has been locked.

This is ideas of two things
you like to see mixed or crossover together
to make a Poster, T-shirt, comic, etc, etc.

For me I would like to see Rampage World Tour drawn in
a mix crossover of Attack on Titan style look for a Poster.

Having a Board game of Clue, but John Carpenter's The Thing theme style.

I'm not sure where this thread is going to go, but in all honesty..... that board game idea sounds awesome.

I always thought a Star Fox Assault line of Megabloks sets sounded pretty cool.

Nothing against Lego, I just feel like the detailed articulated figures Megabloks uses would be more fitting for Star Fox.

not entirely sure why i keep avoiding trying any of those games tbh.

o_O huh, i wonder if (via mods most likely) Bomberman 64 could be recreated using minecraft. or perhaps any of the numerous castlevania games.

i know i have a old castlevania texture pack from like version 0.8 or something (anyone happen to know of a castlevania resource pack for anything up to...maybe 10.0?). iirc it's one based on the original castlevania for nes. and i also have a mega man...x? themed one too. and i even have a great mario one that even has some things like trees animated (something mario medley i think is the name). but no bomberman one that i remember.

hmmm...then again, terraria might be better for castlevania. and maybe a metroid cross-over.

The John Carpenter's The Thing Clue board game?
yeah it seems like a easy concept for a board game.
I wonder why it wasn't ever made.

Bloodborne with the Dark Cloud series.

A singular protagonist whom doesn't level up, their stats are determined by their currently equipped weapons and by permanent increase consumables; the crazy ass weapons are enhanceable by a variety of consumables, including sufficiently leveled up weapons, by the build up system. Randomized dungeons in a floor system with secret sub-floors requiring specific items to access.

To be a bit more specific:

the blood echo system works like ABS (ABSorption points) which are absorbed into the weapon you used to kill the opponent. Be equipping gems and boosters, you can influence the weapon's stats, and if the weapon levels up with a gem/booster, said gets absorbed into the weapon, fusing to permanently increase the stats of the weapon and allowing you to equip more gems/boosters. After a weapon reaches level 5, you can transform it into a kind of booster, condensing its stats so you can equip and further increase another weapon. This is not mandatory, but it is useful because every weapon is unique. Weapons can "evolve" in a build-up system, which can change the weapon entirely (except for what kind it is) once it hits a specific minimum stat(s).

Your character cannot level up, instead you must consume permanent upgrades to influence your health, defense, and magic (which is not from DC series). These can only be given by specific events, like clearing a dungeon to a specific floor or by killing a specific boss, or evolving 5 weapons and saving folk from a gruesome death.

The dungeon system is based off floors/basements. You delve further up or down on a mostly randomized (there is always elements like subfloors, entrances, and exits), finding newer and harder enemies the further you go down. Subfloors require very specific, chance to be found in chest/enemy items, and act like keys. They contain much harder enemies, but have a very high chance to contain weapons, gems or high level boosters. If you die on any dungeon floor, you are booted out of the dungeon and any weapon experience that didn't make it to a level is lost.

I am leaving a story up in the air, as I loved both Dark Cloud 2's story and Bloodborne's story. There are also features like atlamillia, time travel, thirst, and others that were edited or added/removed that I am excluding.

Easy fit theme. Thematically implausible from game mechanism standpoint.

Consider that something like that works only on a surface level. That is a reskin of the original clue game. (Like Shrekopoly or Mario Chess)

If you tried to incorporate story elements of the thing, such as its ability to change hosts you end up with a much more complicated experience that wouldnt work.

But on a purely surface level that would be a v cool clue reskin.

There was a game called Clue Museum, where one player was knowingly the bad guy, but they would never put their piece on the board. They had to use a notebook to keep track of where they moved, and could disable cameras and whatnot, but if another player got a look at the cameras aimed at the hall he was in, he had to put his piece down.

The Thing Clue could instead make it so that there is a judge, somebody watching over it all, with nobody actually putting down pieces on the main board, instead telling the Judge where they are going. The judge would keep track of where everybody is on their own little board (metal map with little magnetic circle pieces, perhaps), and let them know if they find anybody as they move around. Rather than starting with clues, they would find them as they go searching around areas, and could potentially scavenge items to defend themselves in case they run into the Thing while it's active.

Gathering enough evidence to be able to actually prove (not just guess) who the Thing is will then put all of the pieces on the map so that people can either avoid them (while still trying to gather weapons) or target them.

Well I got a idea how it might work
if your playing two players only
You need a blood test kit or a weapon or both cards to confront
the person you think is "The Thing",

But there are down sides of these cards
if you kill a person who isn't a thing
it's 3 strikes and game over.
If you confront a person who is a thing with
out a weapon card it's gameover for you.

and if you got more then two players with you,
theres a card that can make other players turn into the thing,
so you play betrayer later on in game.
Those of the concepts I can think of for The Thing Clue board game

that could be interesting. though, theme wise, there's probably not all that much that wouldn't work with monster hunter or even toukiden.

adjust the weapons & armor accordingly, change the monsters...the overall environment...

there's probably a good number of games and themes that could work in such a cross-over. shining force, pick a mega man series, metroid (those friggin metroids would be scary without a good ice weapon on hand), maybe even castlevania.

i've sometimes wondered how a castlevania game might turn out if bethesda or From got their hands on the IP. an open world castlevania done like an elder scrolls game could be ok. or maybe have it like dark souls or king's field. i bet From could work wonders with THAT kind of atmosphere. ^_^ but knowing them...we might be lacking on music with the end result. :/ they're not all that known for great soundtracks as i'm sure anyone who has played the Souls franchise knows well. aside from that though, they could probably do good.

Well theres always Dark Souls and Dragon's Dogma,
or Bloodborne and Nightmare Creatures.

A Castlevania in a Elder Scrolls style would be a neat idea
I also can see Diablo in a Elder Scrolls style too.

Ir something more Urban, Vampire: The Masquerade
in a full blown free roam style like Skyrim or Fallout 4.

lol I like to see King's field get remade and shadow tower too.

Oh heres A idea I like, Clock Tower 1 and 2 as a Telltale gameplay style,
well at least half of it.

maybe have it where you can roam the lands of romania hunting monsters and at certain times, dracula's castle would spawn in typical fashion (random map layout and assortment of monsters. maybe make the map procedurally generated.) and affect the surrounding landscape as you clear it.

oh, the possibilities such a setup would present...

lol I like to see King's field get remade and shadow tower too.

think i met a guy on gamefaqs who is actually remaking king's field 2 (i think it's the 3rd game. the 2nd one released in the US.) using a heavily modified copy of the sword of moonlight program (the program From used to make the first few king's field games). i think i... yeah, here's his website (bit of an odd setup but whatever). i looked into it but then lost interest when i got another couple of ps4 games in. >.>

Sword of Moonlight is a VERY easy to use and learn game making program but i haven't done much with it since i got it tbh. i still have a zip file and the translation patch if anyone wants to try it out. just don't expect great quality if you try using any videos with it as you have to convert the file to .avi and that can make the quality drop somewhat. and .wav for audio files.

too bad i can't just pop in the iso for shadow tower and stick some music in there. >.> i think From used the music space for all those 150+ monsters and stuff. well, i suspect that to be the case anyway.

on skyrim: did you guys know that even my crappy laptop can run Skyrim - Legendary Edition? here are the system requirements for that game:

Minimum:

OS: Windows 7/Vista/XP PC (32 or 64 bit)
Processor: Dual Core 2.0GHz or equivalent processor
Memory: 2GB System RAM
Hard Disk Space: 6GB free HDD Space
Video Card: Direct X 9.0c compliant video card with 512 MB of RAM
Sound: DirectX compatible sound card

Recommended:

Processor: Quad-core Intel or AMD CPU
Memory: 4GB System RAM
Video Card: DirectX 9.0c compatible NVIDIA or AMD ATI video card with 1GB of RAM (Nvidia GeForce GTX 260 or higher; ATI Radeon 4890 or higher)

if it didn't suffer from single digit frame rate lag on my laptop, i could run freaking skyrim! probably as good as i can do oblivion. i can only wonder what sorcery they used to make the system requirements so unbelievably low for that game. i mean, my laptop is probably 5-7+ years old now and it can run a game like that without crashing. that's nothing short of incredible.

and directx 9 too... o_O i would've thought skyrim was 11 or maybe even 12, not 9.

even the recommended stuff isn't much higher. mainly just the quad-core processor.

Yeah I like to see Diablo 1 get remade into elder scrolls game

ah neat king's field remake, be funny and neat
if the creators made an king's field dlc for a dark souls game.

I'm not good with pc talk I bought the "latest" pc.
but playing Alan Wake on max settings.
I get screen tearing, but if I turn down the grass
draw distance a tad bit it runs better.

A big crossover monster Kaiju game would be nice
Like you get fighting game to a beat em up style, and etc.

and I mean all Monsters from movies and video games, old or new.

Rampage, Godzilla, Attack of the 50 foot tall woman, etc, etc.

screen tearing probably means your video card (or equivilant if using a laptop) isn't quite up to the requirements or something.

well, it wouldn't be too hard to track down diablo in that kind of game. i mean, he's not exactly great at hiding his presence in the world. just follow his path of destruction.

ah, elder scrolls x super mario

hmmm.... castlevania...mmorpg? either castlevania 64 or SoTN style. could work...though if done SoTN style it might be best to have each castle/party instanced so if multiple parties try to enter the same castle it'd split them into separate instances so as to prevent cluttering and stuff.

then again, that might work nicely with the castlevania x elder scrolls idea.

edit: oh and i just remembered what that super mario resource pack for minecraft was. Super Mario Medley looks like it's been updated all the way up to minecraft 1.11 now.

Undertale and Welcome to Night Vale. Chara would team up with Kevin, Alphys would befriend fellow scientist Carlos, Undyne would destroy the library, Sans would befriend Carlos for the sake of figuring out what the hell is happening, Frisk would try to befriend The Good Boy before finding out time doesn't work in Night Vale, Asriel would be dismissed as non-existent by the City Counsel, Asgore would try to help everyone escape by seeking the assistance of THE BROWNSTONE SPIRE, Mettaton would be targeted by Desert Bluffs as he managed to power himself without blood, and Toriel would try to start a school before being shut down, and would instead be a lawyer. Her first client would be Hiram McDaniels.

Jerry stole the Apache Tracker's car and left without taking anyone else. What an asshole.

Well for a free roam diablo 1 remake

super mario? could work but I see that as another Mario RPG
not if there was a Final Fantasy Crossover.

castlevania mmo rpg
I had an idea for a Devil May Cry game like that once
but not a MMO but like Resident Evil Out-Break up to 4-8 players online

zombies ate my neighbors gameplay like l4d with some rpg elements

A Ratchet and Clank Game that plays like Star Wars Battlefront
and team fortress 2.

Ooo speaking of Castlevania-symphony of the night
A 2D/2.5D SplatterHouse Game that plays like Symphony of the night

SCP Foundation with Fallout 4 style gameplay with X-Files and MIB like theme tones.
I think this would work if your played as a SCP Field Agent from the SCP Foundation,
as you track down and capture, or destroy and document
any supernatural thing out in the world.
as the gameplay would be like Fallout4 style
with a dash of L.A. Noire and SCP Containment Breach gameplay.
---
Earth Defense Force meets Kaiju monsters and other B-Movie monsters/giant beings.
Having the gameplay be like EDF with a dash of Armored Core, War of Monsters and Star Wars Battlefront.

As you can play as the destroyer/invaders, or the protector/defenders.
playing as Humans or Aliens, Gaint robots to gaint monsters, creatures and beings.

Being on foot you can fly air/space crafts, vehicles, and mechs
and you'll get alot of weapons and power suits and upgrades for them.

As for being a giant being/monster you can have atomic attacks,
like having fire/lazer/ice beams eyes or breath.
and punch, kick, crush, and climb almost anything fast or instantly.
Having different abilities and skills of upgrades,
and depending what monster you are you are able to fly,
create a shock wave stomp or other power monsters abilities.

If you can rewrite, crossover, mix, "meet" or fuse into a new film or show.

what would it be?

I would say

I would like to see a animated 3D film like Kung Fu Panda,
with the humor, tone and action of Kung Fu Hustle,
with a dash of Kung Pow humor.
---

A Animated 2D film with the art style
between like Fritz the Cat, Rock & Rule and Animalympics.

but the plot and tone is like The Warriors,
Zootopia with a dash of Fritz the Cat.

with a dash of The Wolf Among Us.
But with a Shrek and Happily N'Ever After theme
of a game or film.

If it was a game, maybe an RPG.
And maybe Suikoden, Chrono Trigger,

With 2D sprites hand drawn characters,
or maybe a Fake 2D but really 3D character models,
kinda like how Guilty Gear Xrd Revelator,

A legitimate Super Mario and Sonic the Hedgehog crossover, not this Olympics and Smash Bros. shit. Can you even imagine the sort of big bucks a traditional sidescrolling platformer featuring these two iconic heroes that would be raked in by Nintendo and Sega? There doesn't need to be any epic story or plot, just fun, creative, and unique levels that can completed by either Sonic or Mario. Of course, making Luigi, Peach, Tails, and Knuckles unlockable characters would just be icing on the cake.

I usually go for the watering can for the humiliation factor. For personal reasons I won't get into (but promise are not related to the name) I prefer not to use a hoe in particular as a weapon.

hmmm... wouldn't mind seeing another metroidvania megaman game. corrupted is still probably a long ways off and tbh, that 2d roguelike done in the same style as megaman was actually kinda crappy (those vertically moving platforms and stuff were shitty).

or maybe another MMX: Command Mission only have it less linear and more open world for more exploration. heck, why not megaman x elder scrolls?

Sonic can jump about as high as Mario can (excluding all the fancy jumps) and I don't see how Sonic wouldn't be able to use warp pipes considering how many other Mario characters can. Maybe Mario's superhuman strength should be used for the Mario only areas? I mean, he is strong enough to pick up solid metal objects about 10 times his size (and throw them!), smash blocks with a single punch, carry smaller enemies and swing large hammers around as if they weigh nothing, etc.

Ha easy for a Robot Chicken or Collegehumor gag.

I remember there was a fan made game in alpha.
It was a Kingdom hearts clone, but with retro cartoon characters.
like tmnt, popeye, etc, etc as the creator
wanted to add in thunder cats, heman as well.
Kinda like if Kingdom hearts mix with Cartoon All-Stars to the Rescue
then just only the Disney characters.

The only way I see that as being an issue is if they decided to incorporate a time trial versus mode (or two-player co-op) like Sonic 2. Otherwise, I don't think the speed difference would be an issue. Way I see it, Mario would be better at exploring alternate routes with wall jumps, long jumps, climbing, etc., whereas Sonic could breeze by stages quicker.

There would be a few wrinkles to be sure (for instance, light dash sections; a maneuver that Sonic could do but Mario can't. However, those rings could be replaced by coins and a P-Block placed nearby or visa versa, depending on which character was chosen). But Nintendo and Sega are certifiable geniuses at their craft, so between them pretty much anything could be smoothed out almost seamlessly.

Plus, consider the fact that both characters' power-ups are almost perfectly balanced (as seen in the ScrewAttack Death Battle series). Mario has the starman, Sonic has an invulnerability shield, Mario has a red mushroom, Sonic has rings, Mario gains an extra life with 100 coins, Sonic gets an extra life at 100 rings, Mario has the fire flower, Sonic has the magnetic shield, and so on.

Overall, I think it would be immensely popular with fans and critics alike, and well-balanced with alternate routes through each stage. The only major snafu I can honestly predict might be the bosses. Mario might have a bit of trouble fighting Eggman, but even then I think Nintendo could pull it off.

I wonder,
what if there was a Sony dance music like game

that uses all Sony's mascots
with 3-5 types of gameplay modes

A DDR mode
Parappa the Rapper/Um Jammer Lammy mode
Bust a Groove 1 and 2 mode
And then other modes that is a mixer of two modes.

With Original and remixed songs from
Parappa the Rapper
Um Jammer Lammy
Bust a Groove 1 and 2
Sly Cooper
Ratchet and Clank
Jak and Daxter
Twisted Metal

Would that be a interesting game to play?

So basically a Sony version of this.

How many of those are actually owned/created by Sony?

Metroid and Castlevania 2D sidescrolling adventure in the style of Super Metroid for the SNES. I think that's an obvious choice, considering these two franchises defined a whole genre of platformers. It could be play as either Simon or Samus, or just focus on one character in another's world. Again, no real story needed to try and explain the crossover, just make the levels fun and bosses memorable.

I have an idea for a short comic, Zootopia and The Dear Hunter. It would be based off the Russian roulette scene . Judy would be Michael (Robert De Niro) and Nick would be Nick (Christopher Walken). Everything would basically be the same as the movie but except when Michael talks about their past hunting trips Judy would be talking about the case they worked on. Judy says "remember the case nick?", nick replies "one shot"(Christopher Walken's line from the scene ). Judy has a puzzled look on her face and says "what are you talking about nick?", then nick puts the gun to his head and bamn!

lol Almost thought of StarWars kinect but that would be worst,
but yeah kinda like that
but I think it been a while there was a Bust a Groove game
and a updated Parappa the Rapper gameplay out there.

I don't know how song licensing goes.
the only thing I can think of what ever they can get
and are the best tracks that people like from the games.

I can only think of the pocket watch scene from pulp fiction now... XD

A few more crossovers I'd like to see:

1. Resident Evil & Silent Hill: Tone down the action aspect of recent Resident Evil games and play up the psychological horror aspect of Silent Hill and we'd have one intense horror experience. Optional: Swap out Resident Evil for Outlast, still get an awesome experience.

2. Mortal Kombat & Street Fighter: Have the two largest franchises in the fighting game genre duke it out for real. Can you even imagine the potential for e- sport competitions? Of course, it wouldn't be complete without gruesome fatalities for each character. Bonus: Include Tekken, Killer Instinct, and/or Soul Calibur for even more adrenaline-fueled rage-outs.

3. Jak and Daxter & Ratchet & Clank: Do I really need to explain why this should happen?

4. Tomb Raider & Uncharted: Another obvious choice for a crossover. The games are similar in structure, the protagonists tend to share similar goals, and both take place in the same locales. I think it might be best to keep the story focused on Lara Croft's side, with Nathan Drake just being along for the ride. Plus, how many people would like to see just a hint of romance between these two famous treasure hunters?

5. Metal Gear Solid & Splinter Cell: Given how convoluted the timeline for MGS is, would it be that unlikely for Solid Snake and Sam Fisher to end pursuing the same mission? It would awesome to play two separate campaigns for each character that slowly converge together. And then, for added replay value, replay the game with a co-op mode for stealth action.

I'll add more as I think of them.

The problem with a lot of the suggestions so far is you're crossing franchises that are very similar to each other which would result in getting more of the same thing.

Conker's Bad Fur Day & Metal Gear Solid - Bright and colourful graphics, cute cartoon characters, stealth espionage action and a liberal sprinkling of wise-cracking.

Resident Evil and Silent Hill would be interesting
but fuckonami

I can see DeadSpace and Aliens Isolation be a thing
crossover or it's own gameplay concepts.

Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter?
I don't know if Capcom would like their mascots to be gored
same thing happen to MK vs DC comics.

Jak and Daxter & Ratchet & Clank I can see that happen
if it isn't PlayStation Move Heroes game...
as both games share the same gameplay style and action
they should go together well
or if they did made a proper "PlayStation Move Heroes" game
have all 3 characters play in their gameplay
style with a mixed of everyone else.
With good story and stages... just like the original games
not a bunch of mini games.

Tomb Raider & Uncharted I can see that happen too

Oh Konami... do they even make games anymore? or even care?
I like the idea but... it's more likely as dream with Konami.

As entertaining as that sounds, it doesn't seem likely or even commercially viable, which it would need to be for it to actually happen. A game like you suggest would be a joke really, like an April Fool's Day "leak" by Microsoft. Not saying it's a bad idea, I just look at realistic crossovers I'd like to see.

Each of those franchises I've mentioned have been strong for years with huge fandoms backing them. Even if the crossover doesn't change up gameplay, story, or themes from their respective franchises, the fact they exist will appeal to many fans worldwide.

I mean, I can make goofy and bizarre crossovers too. Like Sonic the Hedgehog and Final Fantasy, developed by Square Enid and marketed by Sega. Now that I think of it, the plot probably wouldn't be that different from Final Fantasy VII or Final Fantasy X.

There's nothing wrong with making a silly jokey suggestion. Games are meant to be fun, after all.

Of course, but you did make it seem like my suggestions for logical crossovers would be a bad thing for lack of originality. I don't think that's the case with games. Game crossovers tend to bring the best out in both franchises and open doorways for future collabs.

For funny posters or weird fan creations, the sillier suggestions are more fitting.

it's not really a crossover of 2 video games but i just had an idea that might be interesting.

Contra Hard corps....furry-fied with the main characters as anthros (likely anthro robots in europe for i don't even remember why they do that anymore) and the enemies as...different anthros and...stuff?

just something other than humans. anthros vs anthro aliens or something?

can't really do that with megaman unless it's the classic series cause they already do that starting with the X series.

i dunno...i just thought it'd be nice to play as something other than humans is all. i like furry stuff. i would not mind seeing more games where it's not all humans for protagonists/antagonists. so maybe replace the cast of some pre-existing games with anthros?

I'm realizing I may have been too hard on bizarre and unlikely crossovers. It's not like stranger things haven't happened. I almost completely forgotten about Kingdom Hearts (the Disney and Final Fantasy crossover with a huge following).

Still not sure how I feel about a RTS Mario game where our Italian plumber is given a gun. This is just a few steps shy of a Mario game done in the style of GTA. Actually, that sounds pretty awesome.

P.S. Am I the only one optimistic about this year in video games?

Blood vs Nightmare creatures? hee hee

well I think Bloody Roar would be good
but what would be a good crossover for it?

Brutal Paws of Fury?

what a odd crossover... but if they find a way to make it work,
let them go for it
----
oh another songs remix

Power Rangers Zeo Theme https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yqhk3ag1MhQ
remix with a TMNT theme
---
Sweet - Ballroom Blitz and the Tia Carrere version
remix with
Electric Six - "Danger! High Voltage" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2a4gyJsY0mc

Now for cartoons

TMNT meets Moo Mesa, Biker Mice, Swat kats
and Streets Sharks?
All them are in the same genres

If it's the originals or modern ones, or a new original versions
or a original short show/films/clip.
