Honestly, the other tag's content should just be retagged- I don't see it as a reason to actually make an alias. Mainly because a "dipstick" by itself implies a very, very different thing- namely, the rod dipped into a car's oil tank to see how much oil's left in it, which is what "dipstick tail" got its name from.

Maybe, but we also have 'dipstick_ears' and many of the posts under 'dipstick' also feature this characteristic, in such a way that isn't completely clear if that tag is used exclusively for tails or not. Personally, I would vote for a disambiguation.

In terms of a possible threat (i.e. mistags), that is plausible, however improvable.

dipstick_ears and dipstick_penis also exist.
