Topic: "nude clothed" - what to do?

Posted under Tag/Wiki Projects and Questions

the Wiki definition for nude says "at least one character who isn't wearing any clothing." in the case of one character being nude and the other being clothed, there's a legitimate reason to have both tags.

but what about "nude clothed solo"? there is a lot on this tag which would best be set to mostly_nude or topless, bottomless et al.

this should not be confused with clothes, which is where they are simply present, perhaps discarded_clothes.

as was already discussed in forum #183132 accessories don't amount to clothes, and should be set to mostly_nude.

i suppose the conundrum being simple, it's fair to go through each post under "nude clothed" and tag them as mostly_nude appropriately. is there a better way to go about this?

No, there isn't a better way. This requires manual clean up.

EDIT: Just came across an issue: crossdressing characters will get the clothed tag no matter what, meaning mostly nude ones will be mistagged.

it took me a few minutes to figure out that mostly_nude characters are allowed to have some clothing. it's the nude ones that aren't. so no contradiction here.

Not really. A periodic manual cleanup is necessary to keep it in order.

And the same applies to pretty much every tag. Some more than others. Many need to be checked periodically.

As for solo clothed nude, you need to exclude tags such as multiple_images when cleaning those. Since multi-image posts can easily have all three tags without being mistagged.

I did. The search term was solo nude clothed -multiple_images -multiple_scenes -off/on. You can't exclude all multi-image tags at once, though.

multiple_images multiple_scenes multiple_positions multiple_poses multiple_versions comic sequence sketch_page off/on. That's 9, and I've probably missed some.

But the clothing allowed within mostly_nude (socks, gloves, etc.) isn't enough for the character to be considered "clothed".

I believe it is. 'nude' means uncovered (without clothes in this context) and a mostly-nude character is wearing clothes, hence clothed.
