Suit Yourself - MY EXPERIENCE WITH YOUTUBE HEROS

well, this isn't surprising to hear. i think everyone knew from the start that the "youtube heroes" program could and WOULD be abused and sure enough, that's exactly what's happened.

i should probably go through my subscriptions and see who else is on vidme since i went ahead and made an account there the other day.

you were nice while you lasted, youtube. (well...kinda. maybe if the site wasn't so screwy in its design.)

trans-species

well, i think we all knew it was bound to happen but an elf? o_O half-elf maybe since humans can't do elven magic and elves tend to be magical beings. well, i guess he can change the physical side of things.

heres hoping this poor guy doesn't go down the route of that trans-racial women. if he goes that route then he's likely to be considered weird and crazy.

PINK ROADS?

*facepalm* these people... even IF (and that's not too big of one considering some other stupid law related BS that's happened in recent years) they managed to get the proposal to be taken seriously this is a ridiculous and complete waste of resources for something truly idiotic.

gender segregated roads... what happens when you take into account tumblr's 300+ genders? are you going to keep the road ways segregated between all of those too? or is this just for male and female only...the only 2 genders?

these people don't deserve the amount of attention they get, both in and out of media.

Nothing says inclusion quite like segregation.

To be honest, this is not surprising at all. Not because of the blatant feminism but because western society in general is like this. As TV Tropes puts it: Men Are Generic, Women Are Special. In this case, women getting special pink lanes to call their very own and exclude men from with no blue lane equivalent for the men. They get the generic black roads instead.

Little children who argue about OP/UP classes in WoW, whom include specializations but ignore contexts like builds or content. "Well, of course your MM hunter sucks in casual battlegrounds, you're full PvE relying on legendaries and procs!"... shit hits the fan when they have to be told why their statements are incorrect, or when you link them where to find "correct" (or at least suggested) builds.

...i wonder how many WoW players go around screaming and raging like little kids who play CoD games. i'm sure theres similar entertainment to be had in WoW too.

the last i played WoW was the day before...burning crusade? or was it lich king king that came out the next day? hmmm...actually...what year did lich king get released? well, whichever it was it was the day blizzard launched a global assault on the capital cities with those giant super bosses. i was undead at the time so i and several others just sat back in the zeppelin tower watching the horde try and slay the great beast.

iirc...at one point, several full raid parties had formed from all the horde players on the server at the time and even with them all fighting together (mind you, they were all lvl 40+ at the time which was pretty high lvl) they still couldn't kill it. but once it ended later that day...the skeletons went from the undercity throne room out to the zeppelin tower and beyond.

ah, here it is. the burning crusade launch event. the day High lord Kruul assaulted the Undercity. easily my favorite event out of all my 5 years of that game. huh, 10 years...i wonder if blizzard ever held any other battles of that scale since then. cause Kruul wrecked everything they threw at him on the server i played. like in that video, the safest thing to do at the time was to get near or in that tower and just watch the chaos unfold.

i know i heard about that zombie virus event and one other before it that got patched but i don't remember what it was called. blood scourge or something? oh well, i gave up on that game long ago and never even considered going back since then. theres better MMOs out there and...well, i always liked MMOs with smaller communities tbh.

The zombie virus was the prepatch before WotLK, and there was the Corrupted Blood plague, both you referred to; there was also the Legion prepatch that introduced demon invasions and this demonic whispers thing in the main cities, which allowed you turn into a demon after a certain threshold was met.

I wasn't there for the prior accounts, but the lattermost was both fun and annoying because of how easy it was for you to be found out.

To answer your raging kids question, it only happens in LFR, pugs, and PvP of most sorts. WoW is otherwise full of sensible adults that are healthily assholes to each other.

yeah, that corrupted blood thing was interesting. especially with how it got the attention of people researching irl epidemics and how people react to them.

never heard of the demonic whispers thing though but it wouldn't surprise me. i've seen lots of videos about strange things in that game over the years...satanic references, diablo references, even those cthulu related bosses and stuff like that giant eyeball one.blizzards always been known to hide some pretty strange stuff in WoW.

to make the demonic stuff a part of actual gameplay though... i mean, could you actually hear the whispering and stuff? that sounds pretty creepy to me. interesting but creepy.

It was an interactive buff, when you got it you could play the part of an invader fucking with players or NPCs. You could, for instance, make another player look like a bad guy, pass the buff around, and after a certain point, you could transform into a demon. If you didn't want to participate, you could right click it off. Frankly, it was one of the best prepatches ever, having participated in Pandaland and it.

Here's a (shitty) video of it.

video: YOU'RE SEXIST FOR TELLING A PREGNANT WOMAN NOT TO DRINK.

article: YOU'RE SEXIST FOR TELLING A PREGNANT WOMAN NOT TO DRINK.

"Studies have shown that consistent heavy drinking during pregnancy can result in foetal alcohol syndrome, which can cause physical developmental and learning difficulties.

However, there is not robust evidence that light to moderate drinking, or even one-off episodes of binge drinking, causes any long-term damage."

unbelievable... i'm all for that freedom of choice stuff when it comes to abortion since there are some problems that can help women avoid (and don't give me that pro-life bullshit. pro-lifers don't give a fuck about the consequences as long as everyone gets a shot at life no matter the risks. even if the risks mean a life of suffering and pain due to something like a incurable chronic disease.). but it doesn't take that many brain cells to know that you shouldn't be drinking alcohol when pregnant. that's not sexist, it's common sense (that extraordinarily rare piece of knowledge so few people seem to have).

People who've made finite schedules and do not meet said schedule. Being so devout to my WoW guild's DnD campaign, I had sat and waited for 3 hours in an idle Discord room on our server, watching as our DM and various members log on and off inconsistently.

But what truly made me facedesk was one member, whom was online throughout the time, saying that they didn't know we were gonna try it today... despite the message being on screen from Thursday.

Because doing the exact same thing for free within a matter of minutes on a PC is illegal. Sure, $60 is a steep price to pay (assuming that's what they're gonna charge, which they might not) but you should be paying something for it (and "time" doesn't count).

Also, if you've already got the games then getting another version of them is almost pointless. This would mainly be for people who didn't/couldn't play the games when they first came out and don't want to go the piracy route.

I bought Mega Man the original through VIrtual Console and it was deleted remotely and the license revoked after the Wii U came out. Same with Majora's Mask, Phantasy Star, TLoZ, and Final Fantasy. This isn't selling. It's holding for ransom.

Wow. I absolutely hate Trump, and even I have to take his side there.

This "Suing Trump for Twitter Blocking" seemed too ridiculous to be real, so I decided to look into it.

Now, maybe the Mark Dice guy goes into this information, and if so, I apologize for being redundant, but quite honestly I can't stand the guy's presentation and voice.

So, the argument goes like this: Because some white house officials (Sean Spicer) have claimed that Trump's twitter is an official public source, it ought to be regulated by the same rules that regulate other official public sources like city halls and the like. Those rules prohibit blocking someone purely for expressing a contrary opinion.

Now, this argument would still seem somewhat ridiculous to me, except for one reason: There does appear to be legal precedent. In the case of Davidson v. Loudoun County it was determined that the Facebook page of the County Supervisor could not block people for expressing their views, and such would be a violation of the First Amendment.

So yeah, they might actually have a shot at winning this, if they play their cards right. Rather interesting.

Updated by anonymous

To me, the idea is ridiculous. Blocking someone on twitter doesn't stop them from expressing an opinion, it stop the blocker from hearing it. It's basically self-inflicted deafness, the digital equivalent of covering your ears when someone speaks.

Kicking someone out of a city hall meeting also doesn't stop someone from expressing an opinion either. It just stops them from using that particular location from doing so. And yet that's still illegal, because of the public (in the sense of it being a official government venue) nature of the location.

The question comes down to whether or not Donald Trump's twitter is considered a public venue in that same sense, or a private twitter account owned by a public servant.

I tend to lean towards the latter, for the record.

Updated by anonymous

Same. I don't see how his twitter account is any more a public venue than anyone elses. Regardless of the user's status both online and offline, it's still just a twitter account.

I'm trying to wrap my head around the idea of a twitter account being considered a venue at all. Wouldn't twitter be the venue in this case, with the account being more akin to a person at the venue?

His Twitter account is the legal property of Twitter. No claims that it's public can change that. He agreed that it belonged solely to Twitter when he signed up. Legally, anyone, including Trump himself, could be kicked off the whole site for life if Twitter gave the okay (a block feature is giving the okay) and no reason would be required. What you allow can be used against you, as the US showed with the ridiculous criminal charges against the Private Sector BBS in 1985, which has not changed, but what you block can't. Mandated listening is not free speech. In fact, it is itself a violation of free speech.

"my problem"? lmao the title is "what makes you cringe", pretty sure you're supposed to state negative opinions of things in here.

and for the same reason "gay", "faggot", "retard", etc. are all still common slang. it's how human language progresses, for the most part. we create some slang words to feel edgy or express negativity in a way that would be considered shocking when there are no other alternatives. then everyone starts using them, the words eventually lose their meaning and punch, and we go back to part one. our current profanity and slang are more towards the end of their lives. and gay slurs, as you presented, have still been around and are just as common as ever.

but yeah, i can't stand when trending tags get invaded with that garbage. you can't find a tag about toaster ovens without morons somehow grasping to tie it to "libtards" or "trumpkins". and the things you read are so stupid and over the top that they legit hurt. it sucks to go try and unwind and have idiots turn it into annoyance; like if you found small metal shards in your beer. has to be the biggest cringefest for me

and if i call you a "chicken" or a "faggot" that doesn't mean i'm accusing you of being fowl or wanting a cock in your ass. you act as if you don't often engage with others and don't understand basic communication. calling invasive political nonsense "autistic" clearly isn't an accusation that autism creates an urge to make invasive political nonsense.

It seems you misunderstand. Autism is the kind of word that people will assume you are not using as slang, which makes you sound ignorant or uninformed. You wind up insulting yourself, rather than what your intended target is.

Only reason Apple is still in business is because they have really powerful security on their devices. Whether that security is just the vast differences between OSs or an actual thing I'm not sure.

Because in most ways, it's a negative trait to have. Granted, some autistic people have done some amazing things in the past but being autistic is generally not a good thing.

See also coward, liar, moron and other genuine insults.

Is that so?

Not really. An infected Apple is like someone who carries an illness. No symptoms, and no signs anything is there, but that just makes it easier to spread silently.

People who use Autistic as an insult or think it's an inherently negative thing make me facepalm, for sure.

I'd be happy to do so. I have it.

its just a different way for brains to function and process things. and since people have it through their entire lives, why not let people be happy about the way they are? why you want to make people feel bad about something they cannot change?

Basically what I was thinking.

Not to mention that using it as an insult, regardless of how you feel towards the condition itself, demonstrates disdain towards the people who have it. Whether or not that's your intention, notawerewolf, that's the message you're sending, and it's kinda (read: super) shitty of you.

nah you just a baby. everyone has different perspectives and would offend others with something without meaning to. i have nothing against autistic people by using common slang.

i call people fags or say "what are you, fucking gay?" all the time. which is totes me trying to send the message that i have disdain towards gays. you know, my boyfriend and self included. and don't mention little wayne spreading the message of slavery by saying "nigga"

people use language different ways. people are different. it'd do a few of you some good to expand your horizons and not judge intention by vague use of communication.

That MIGHT be okay in a perfect world or in a vacuum, but the real world isn't as black and white as that. You are not the only person that has that outlook where it's okay to say whatever the fuck you want because if someone takes it the wrong way that's THEIR fault. You are FAR from the only person. And that shit adds up until people on both sides of the shit it does to your brain start genuinely believing it.

So on one side you've got people suffering neurological disorders who have to put up with this day-by-day reminder that people laugh at their expense because of shit they don't have any control over and it makes it harder and harder for them to get by and continue to convince themselves they deserve to be happy.

And on the other side you've got cops who will fucking murder a mentally ill person they were called to get help for because they don't understand his behavior so he's GOT to be one of them there psychos flipping out over nothing and we ALL know psychos are dangerous, right?

Plus it's not very punk rock of you to add shit to the septic tank.

Some very good questions to ask anyone who tries to make honkies feel bad for being honkies. Or those who try to make males feel bad for being males.

Not that simple. People have started to become more accepting of homosexuality and black people, but it's the reverse for Autism. Even though I could do calculus in my head, I was stuck in special ed counting pennies with a teacher who spoke like I was a puppy. I lost that ability by the way. Wasn't allowed to practice, as in teachers made active efforts to stop me from practicing. One of the colleges I went to made it no secret they were expelling me for it. The letter specifically stated that I should "reevaluate whether [the college] is the right place for someone of [my] needs." It happened the day after I met with disability services for the first time. I've been accused of cheating in my current college for doing better on a typed essay than a handwritten surprise quiz, which is already not allowed because I have to schedule appointments for tests 4 days in advance just for the college to permit me to take them. I've been kicked out of a physics course because I was not allowed to write anything down without having a mental visualization of the objects, which was only required after the professor knew I am physically incapable of creating an actual image of anything mentally and that the part of the brain that allows learning that is missing, but that something like numbers and units are like breathing. Nothing like having the few things I'm good at specifically tailored to punish every advantage Asperger's Syndrome gave me and only allowing what I can never do as an excuse to say I'm not mentally fit for the class. You'd be surprised how many places are upset when they hear a n Autistic student is getting more done than the students without Autism. I've been in my final semester for 12 semesters because there's always some made up reason I couldn't have done the work I did.

And that has only gotten worse. For you, it's a joke that everyone uses. For me, it's ammunition against me that everyone has.
