I sometimes see a story about someone who has been horrible to an animal, a story of immense cruelty, I can't sleep for thinking about how much suffering has occurred, it is just horrible, Have to keep the radio on to distract me. Times of the small hours I reflect on how much of a mistake it was for the first humans to come down from the trees, start standing upright and discovering fire and flint.

^ this. Humans are screwing up this planet big time. I've been watching Planet Earth II recently and seeing how beautiful and majestic all the animals are... to think we are harming and even killing them. Whether aware or not, it is happening.

^ Again, pretty much that.

World politics are the worst they have been since... well... since I was born (And I'm only 19!). First Brexit and now Trump.

I think furries generally care more about world peace than the general public (despite all the furry drama). Probably partly because anthropomorphic animals help us relate to other animals and nature?

in what way is criticizing a religion racist?

every time i see this in a news article it makes me want to take the diamond hard stupidity of whoever said that is racist and bash their heads in.

honestly, people like that are so far removed from reality that they're forgetting and confusing what words even mean.

This has been a thing for decades now. Long before "Islamophobia" we had any criticism of the religion of Judaism labeled as "Antisemitism."

Thing is, Jews aren't the only Semites in existence. Saddam Hussein was a semite, but he sure as hell wasn't a Jew.

And on that note:

Another thing that makes me angry is idiots who claim that the Holocaust was solely aimed at Jews, thus completely ignoring the at least 5 million non-Jews who were also systematically rounded up and murdered by the Third Reich for not being "aryan" enough.

o_O funny thing about that. religion isn't a race and really, the only people who have a valid reason to be called "islamophobic" would probably be atheists and gays. and even then wanting to avoid muslims is more a matter of self-preservation than fear. so even that doesn't really count as a... do they (whoever came up with that word) even know what the word phobia means? cause i'm fairly certain it doesn't mean what people tend to use it for.

a phobia is an irrational fear of something. i'm pretty sure that most people who get labeled as "islamophobic" aren't so much afraid of islam as they are pissed off by it.

Then again, a lot of people do fear being blown up.

The word phobia used to simply mean "fear of something". The "irrational" part was added later. Mind you, you'll have a hard time finding some who'll say being afraid of this thing is irrational.

A lot of things actually.
1. House guests who seem to think that they know absolutely everything... and yet they're a post drug addict who can't even get shit straight in their life.
2. People who fight for stupid reason [myself included].
3. CoD. I hate this game with the deepest part of my decayed heart. I will play it, but never for anything besides fun. Stories are always about betrayal and the online experience is full of hackers.
4. Japan only releases. Mostly directed at the MH: Frontier series.
5. The CURRENT concepts of dragons. A majority of the stuff I have seen shows dragons as mostly winged. I realize that not all of them are, but it still bothers me that an Earth Dragon is capable of flight.
6. Sony. Went to play my PS3 and the file system is corrupt. Tried to mend the issue and now it's stuck on an infinite loop of [File system is corrupted].
7. People who ask if they can take a sip of my beverage. Especially after admitting that they don't care who they drink after [the individual had shared a drink with someone who had hepatitis].
8. 'Most' of today's movies and books. Everything in my town is either cheap, a copy paste plot incident, or just terrible actors.

... Also MH3 for the Wii. Or as some people call it, 'Monster Hunter 3 LITE'.

To add to the hs thing, teachers who ignore bullies who are blatantly tormenting their victims in class, but then when the victim finally says enough is enough, that's when the teacher notices and takes action... against the victim and only the victim.

Story of my life. Reporting bullies to the teachers always resulted in "Just ignore them and they'll go away." and no further action. You can't ignore taking a cricket bat to the shoulder.

Fighting the bullies myself was the only option I had since the teachers clearly didn't give a shit about my safety.

Or people using their phones on tests. Or generally being disrespectful dipshits. Luckily this largely stops in college, at least where I go.

My 'favorite' incident was in my first year of middle school, when a girl who I'd gotten in a couple mild fights with claimed that I called her a "nigger" at a point at which I didn't even know what that word meant. I don't think I even knew it was a word. Luckily, the administration trusted me that time thanks to my astoundingly obvious naïveté.

Same for the most part, though there were a couple times when the teacher actually threw me out of class for "causing trouble" because I told him one too many times to do something about the bullies.

Also, they used to send mixed messages all the time. First, they'd say "if someone's bullying you, report it to a teacher," but when you reported it they'd go "stop being such a tattle-tale and settle it yourself."

Fighting the bullies myself was the only option I had since the teachers clearly didn't give a shit about my safety.

I got pushed onto the floor one time right in front of a teacher in one HS I went to. He yelled at them and that was that, for them. Unfortunately for me, when they pushed me my knee slammed into the two-drawer filing cabinet to my right of the teacher's desk, and it got injured. I still have to deal with the effects of that injury to this very day. The bullies who did it probably don't even remember it happening.

The few times I fought back the school came down on me hard, usually with a suspension or some other such bullshit, and a lecture on why it's wrong to beat other kids up. Meanwhile, the "victims" of my "rampage" (the bullies I finally stood up to and beat the shit out of when they wouldn't stop harassing me) got a slap on the wrist. Fucking teachers need to stop playing favorites.

Reason for Edit: I need to remember the difference between "Left" and "Right." Derp.

That's your perspective.

You see, time is a skill. It's a technique. Not just a measurement. The more you sit around moping about, the faster time will seem to go. But if you were to have more memorable events in your life, it will seem longer, more filling. When you look back on your life, you normally look back on memorable events. The fewer there are, the shorter your life will seem. So logically, you should create more memorable events so that it seems longer.

wrong, time is not a skill or technique but rather it is a matter of perception. something you just gave an example of.

it's also why time sometimes seems to be moving faster for someone while to those around that person it is still moving normally. in this case time is moving the same speed it always does. more likely is the person who perceives it to be moving more quickly is either moving faster or slower than those around them so, to their mind, it seems to be moving at a different speed for them which basically alters their perception of time temporarily.

another example is when someone says they lost track of time. it's not so much that they lost track of it as it is they were simply more focused on what they were doing and thus less aware of things (including time) around them which can affect how they perceive time temporarily.

So logically, you should create more memorable events so that it seems longer.

as i pointed out above. just because it seems longer doesn't mean it is longer. it's just that you perceive it to be longer than it really is. pretty much everything is finite (except maybe human stupidity >.>), even time and humans have a finite lifespan. it's just that some humans do better than others and last a bit longer. (or a LOT longer in the case of those who somehow pass the 110+ year mark. o_O)

can't really comment on what i've never played. but i can say that FPS's usually aren't to my liking all that much. unless it's something like armored core but all those war FPS games...meh, i'll pass.

especially if you take into account the fact that i'm the kind of gamer who seldom ever touches a game once i've beaten it. it's not that often that i bother replaying a game much.

i've already beaten it so i already know what's gonna happen in it so...why replay it? it'd be much like reliving the exact same day over and over. one time is usually enough before any fun from it vanishes quickly. :/

Hey, you made the thread for ranting. Its healthy.

Personally, I get very angry when people would rather put off dealing with a growing personal issue than approach people and communicate. Ignoring the problem only makes it worse for everyone later. I've been in a lot of fights with friends lately that were caused by just ignoring problems until things bubbled up.

That's because autism isn't a specific thing. It refers to having your neurological development displaced, influencing a focus on certain types of things at the cost of losing focus to others. "Fancy wording" has nothing to do with it, yes, rather it involves focusing on the reason you suggest something and being unable to comprehend the arguments against it.
That's not even an insult. According to the information thing I'm reading, a person can get angry over any changes to what they perceive as "normal."

It wasn't their fault. The phone was making suggestive poses and they just couldn't resist the temptation.

There's always that moment at a school carnival or something when one of the parents shouts out "Come on, son! We're rooting for you!" and every parent within earshot turns and stares at them awkwardly.
