So... Maybe we should make a thread for putting together a list of tags... I mean, not ALL the tags in the world, but some basics for people who are tagging pictures. AS we find the trouble places, we can figure out which set of posts are 'better' than others.

I found:
secretly loves it
bright eyes vs "glowing eyes"
for science!! vs for science
psycho_killer

if any one want to look at them

I think I've touched on this before. I believe their should be a category mechanic within the tag section to make navigation easier for everyone and narrow down specifics that we can learn exists. there is the tag wiki but It not flexible enough if you ask me.

Edit: come to think of it this could kill two bird with one Stone. If someone create a new tag it would go to the default category and if thier a wait period to change it along with a Misc category to go to if undecided. people can brang up the relevence of the proposed tag

Well! wasn't quite what I meant, but this is good too! As for title (which I believe you can change if you edit your original post) try something like "Which tag?" :) i'ts still not a GOOD title, but better! :D

Also, FYI, you can make links easier by typing stuff like this [[glowing_eyes]] and that will make a wiki link. if you type it like this: {{glowing_eyes}} it'll take you to a search. Which means you could do something like {{glowing_eyes fox -rabbit}} if you wanted. :)

Let's see...

  • secretly_loves_it - by wiki, could be pretty neat to have. However, at least to me, very few of the posts look like secret enjoyment, or rape or humiliation or anything like that. Some of these even feel like the person who tagged it added the tag to make themselves feel better about it :P I'd nuke it. To subjective.
  • glowing_eyes vs bright_eyes - bright eyes has less than 100 posts. glowing eyes has over 12,000. I can't see much difference between the two, except that there are a few bright eyes posts meant to be, like "look at how bright and young they are!" ... I could SEE trying to distinguish between an eye being lit up with the tapetum lucidum, versus magical glow... (as seen in the section below) but no one's gonna tag that right, I don't think. and it's REALLY subjective, so... alias bright eyes into glowing eyes, after cleaning up bright eyes.
Bright Eyes, burning like fire...
  • [[for_science!] vs for_science - hmm. two small tags. How does this differ from science? I mean, there are a couple that are more memish "FOR SCIENCE!" which I don't object to having. Maybe for_science! is intended to be for... more silly posts focused on humor and experimentation. I dunno.
  • Psycho_killer could certainly be named better anyway. murdered and murderer are not really used... but we do have snuff and death and grotesque death ... the thing is, psycho killer seems to be being used for the person doing the kiling, with a bit more focus on them, rather than the victim. Eeuugh. Um. so I think this tag probably has a use...?

You mean like being able to take the page for striped_sock and tag it with categories for footwear, sock, striped_clothing, and legwear?

Or being able to go objects > clothing > legwear > socks > striped_sock?

The last is more feasible with the site as it is... but it's also basically what the tag groups are s'posed to be for. Might not be a bad way of organizing it though.

Thing is, I imagine that gets into the land of 'really complicated' and also "requires a lot of babysitting"... as well as "need to be built from scratch" and "no where near supported" ...

Secretly_loves_it can be fixed by just removing the bit about artist description. I can see it being something people want to find, but make it require dialogue.

The unprotected_sex tag seems a bit pointless, especially in case of feral_on_feral.

The wiki has been up since 2011, and it's only been tagged 59 times. Maybe that should be deleted, it's more efficient to just focus on tagging safe sex, which is far rarer.

I agree. Peeps can just search "sex -condom"

I don't see much of a difference between naked collar and collar -clothing considering I don't know many user that consider collars as clothing, let alone tag every domination fetish and pet animals with this tag.

Fun fact: I recently discovered the gödelian shock input tag and also discovered this could be the only time I might actually need to blacklist.
