So I guess there's a tag called bad_parenting with around 500 entries...seems like a pretty dumb tag considering basically every instance of parent/child incest would be considered bad parenting. Tag is redundant honestly and should be removed...any thoughts?

The tag is for far more than just incest and will stay.

There are a lot of examples of parents being awful that doesn't involve any sort of sexual interactions. Also, it's possible to combine it with the humor tag for great results.

... I believe the intent of the bad parenting tag is supposed to be not just be incest. You can find incest by searching incest, after all... the point is, I think, supposed to be examples of.. ugh... it's hard to quantify... manipulation? coercion? dubious consent?

Obviously, sex-with-kids is bad and wrong, and that no relationships with a child could be properly consenting etc in the real world, but the following statements are specifically discussing the fantasy of pornography, and assumes that a child *is* capable of consent in these circumstances.

So... the following are, in my opinion, consentual sort of images and would not be 'bad_parenting'

The tag could probably do with some clean up-- the kid and mom in the kitchen up at the top really doesn't seem like it should 'count' to me, even if the others do.

Bad+parenting should absolutly be kept around, but better defined.

I agree with this. For the sake of fiction, let's say that child-like characters are able to consent. Otherwise, anything which involved the cub in the Rating:E would automatically become rape.

Does the forum generally agree that bad_parenting is roughly as I defined it above, and thus that a number of images within bad_parenting SHOULD have the tag removed?

Further, what about the final set of images? the "mommy is too busy right now" type of bad-parenting? I feel like that should be a different tag. parental_negligence?

I agree...this tag needs a better definition.

I think that obviously consensual sex between a parent and child shouldn't be considered bad_parenting. Ofc irl any sort of sex of this nature would scar a child, but for the sake of tagging it's kind of dumb to define bad_parenting so broadly...otherwise it would be technically correct to add it to every single parent/child incest tag on the site...mother_and_son, father_and_daughter, mother_and_daughter, etc. would all automatically require a bad_parenting tag.

Yeah, I don't think the post count is high enough to warrant splitting the tag. Negligence is bad parenting, fits well under that tag.

There's also minimally tagged child_abuse, which should be merged.

I was gonna argue otherwise, but yeah, most everything under that tag is either bad_parenting or none of the above.

I still think there might be enough pictures for a tag to describe "Parents who are not parenting well in a non sexual manner" or "parents who are causing damaging injury to their child"... but I'll toss 'em in a set and see how many I come up with in the end. Y'all might be right :)
