Aliasing canine_anus → invalid_tag

Reason:

Superfluous, an anus is an anus and if people want to find a canine one they can search canine + anus. Suggest mass deleting this tag prior to aliasing to prevent creation of 100+ invalid tags to be corrected.

Nope! We'll read this thread when we get to this implication--It's one of the reasons we prefer to keep several related implications together in one thread--so in the future if you notice that equine_nose, animal_nose and canine_nose are being tagged and feel they shouldn't, pick one--say, animal_nose-- and suggest that one, then use the description box to suggest the others too :)

This tag was NOT superfluous!
This tag implied the diamond shaped feral type anus of dog genitalia located directly at the base of the tail. It is commonly depicted with a well defined area where fur stops. Additionally, canine anuses sometimes seem to have a horizontal component to their sphincters, like a line going across it. Human anuses on the other hand, tend to be located much further down the tailbone and have asterisk-looking symmetrical sphincters. Perhaps it wasn't defined properly, but if you look at the posts at all, you'll see what I'm referring to.

Simply searching "canine" and "anus" returns tens of thousands of results as opposed to the few feral images associated with this tag. Is there a way to undo this tag implication and restore the posts associated to this tag?

As further proof, there already exists the tag: anatomically_correct_anus with over 970 posts, showing that at least some users recognize the differences here. I suggest unaliasing this tag and restoring its posts, but if the mods deem that unacceptable, then at least alias canine_anus to "anatomically_correct_anus" or "animal_anus" instead. At least then, people would be able to search for canine or equine or whatever and have it return marginally meaningful results as opposed to none at all.

Didn't say it was. Just said that we should unify conversation under a single thread, as there were 3 or 4 threads started on the same-ish topic at once.

No implication has been done, to my knowledge.

This thread is a *suggestion* of an action, not the action itself.

A moderator must come along and review the action before it happens.

the problem with this tag is that dogs have different looking assholes that might vary dramatically between dog breeds. what this tag is apparently meant for is just one of many different looking dog assholes. we cant have canine anus tag that is restricted for assholes of handful of dog breeds.

Very good point! I hadn't thought of that, but it's not surprising considering how widely breeds vary thanks to human intervention.
