As this definition by each wiki,
Seems like Japanese_text tag must include Japanese tag because Japanese_text related with Japanese culture.
However, most post aren't include Japanese tag.

(Korean - Korean_text also observed this issue)

If define korean, japanese tag as
"tag when post was related each culture"
It will become clear.

However, Korean and Japanese tag also observed when artist is korean or japanese, despite it's post have any relationship Korean or Japanese.
This is a problem.

That is a what I said.

If do like that, There are so many meanless english, korean, japanese, chinese tag. It must seems really bad.

However, If not, The tag's position will be ambiguous.

I'm guessing english is not your native language, so I'll be less snarky from now on.

The language that the text is written in is excluded from what the country tags (japanese, korean, etc.) are meant to cover. You can have japanese text on something that has nothing to do with Japan.

Animals native to a particular country are also excluded from the country tags. If they weren't, every image of, say, a kangaroo would end up with an australia tag even if the image itself is not really related to Australia.

Things like traditional clothing and places are typically covered by the country tags. Images that are obviously country themed are covered as well.

Those are all good points, but I'm not sure if the Japanese tag is salvageable. It's mistagged too much for art that is 'drawn by Japanese', instead of what the country tags are meant to be used for.

I suppose the usage might be clearer if we did implicate some tags to it.

Such as:

• japanese
• japanese_clothing
• japanese_flag

Though clothing by itself isn't always enough to qualify for the country tag. Consider this, for instance:

I think I see one or two characters wearing a yukata, but the image as a whole is not Japan-themed.

Also a good point about the korea tag. Really should be split into south_korea and north_korea.

I don't think that 'japanese' is a good tag-- it's incredibly vague.

Don't have time for a through repsponce, but I deeply wish to have tags for... culture and architecture and things that.

If we broaden this out to country tags in general:

• Many country tags are in two different forms (australia/australian, japan/japanese, etc.). Should we use the country name for depictions of the country itself and the other tag for the other stuff?
• What about things like landmarks? They usually related to a country but images containing them may not be themed around that country (model, poster, etc.).
