This idea was initially inspired by these posts which are mistagged slideshow:
I was trying to think of an alternative tag that gave a similar description and came up with paneled.
The first might narrowly fit the definition of sequence or multiple scenes but there seems to be a lot confusion about how to properly use those tags based on their contents. But the second clearly depicts simultaneous events happening from different perspectives. It would be nice if there is a tag for that specifically?
Either way that got me thinking there should be a paneled tag. I am putting it in this category because it would be a fairly broad tag.
A paneled work is one where multiple images are presented by dividing them distinctively.
This can be a border like this:
Or from different backgrounds like this:
Panels can also be overlayed:
They can also be divided in creative ways where panels continue into other panels via subjective distinction in this case the characters anatomy:
But these can also be dream bubbles, etc.
Note that while some sequences are paneled like this one:
Some others are not like this one:
In either case the work has multiple images even when its not paneled. Although the current tag multiple_images is reserved for unrelated works. I don't really understand this and it doesn't seem to be peoples intuitive understanding of the tag either as shown in these examples:

In fact most posts with that tag do not fit the wikis definition.
Given my intuitive definition of multiple_images it should be for these posts:

and the two remaining go in sequence thus should be mutually exclusive.
Its not a coincidence that all the above do not have panels. Usually panels are not used for simultaneous events unless it is close-up or internal. But here are some exceptional examples:
You might want to make exception to the paneled tag for stuff like this?
While the way multiple_images is defined now should instead be compilation such as:
As it currently stands many paneled works get tagged comic which also doesn't seem right. comics also tell a story either through progression or character building and of course are typically longer than sequences
I would ideally want to tag the first two posts mentioned paneled and multiple_images and the first of the two also sequence
