Topic: "Do we have a tag for that" thread

Posted under Tag/Wiki Projects and Questions

Figured this would do better than the overly generic "new tag discussions" thread now that there's a separate new tag announcements.

Is there/should there be a tag for characters wearing...

Socks and no shoes? Thankfully socks does not implicate footwear, but socks -footwear encompasses a broader range of legwear than what I'm talking about.

Shoes and no socks?

What about destroyed landscapes? I've tried wasteland, but I'm not just talking about uninhabitable wastes. I specifically mean a previously-inhabited location, such as a village or city, that has been destroyed, be it from razing, nuclear warfare, or other methods that would also destroy the landscape.

How about labia_minora or visible_labia_minora?

Good luck tagging it on a couple hundred thousands of posts.

I think part of the problem is just how broadly the tag "socks" is used around here. As far as I can tell it just means any garment that is covering the foot at all.

As stupid as it sounds we might need another tag that denotes the traditional sock...maybe something like "ankle_socks".

There's labial hypertrophy if you want to be clinical about it. Not that that helps at all with the amount of tag work involved.

I feel like there's a distinct lack of tags regarding the vulva and the more I think on it I can't believe thats something that wouldn't be tagged in retrospect.
I'll start tagging that too when I get a hang o actually doing tagging en masse.

Since the point here is that each "kind of tag discussion" should have its own thread, should I create threads for tag applicability discussions and new tag suggestions? This may sound a silly question, but I thought that would be better to ask before creating these; and sorry for distancing from the thread main focus (sometimes I have the tendence to do so), but I believed that was unnecessary to create an entirelly new topic only to do such question.

Looking for a tag or tags the pretty much describe a smaller participant getting a (insert fetish here) from a larger participant, and not the other way around. I don't know what they even call larger_x_doing_something_to_smaller_x.

The tag that I think to be the closest to what you are looking for is "big_dom_small_sub"; I don't know any other tag which combines size difference, some type o sexual behave and specifies the role of each partner.

Yeah, it's the combining of big_dom and small_sub, but I don't think there is a specific way to find those in conjunction with a specific fetish; I've yet to find one.

@Furrin_Gok @Genjar, thanks for pointing out that tag but it's not really what I'm looking for.

Just for an example this post,

It's neither train_position nor sandwich_position, however can be tagged with bisexual_sandwich.

(train position) ✘
The train position refers to a specific position where the participants form a line, all facing the same direction,

(sandwich position) ✘
A type of sex position involving three participants: both penetrating partners are on the ends, both facing the middle partner.

(bisexual sandwich) ✔
Top: Male character, penetrating "Middle"
Middle: Male character, penetrating "Bottom"
Bottom: Female character being penetrated by "Middle"

But what if the post were to be all three of the same genders? The bisexual_sandwich wouldn't be valid then.
(Not looking for a position tag, proposing penetrating_being_penetrated if there's no tag for it yet)

I see nothing particularly specific to that style at all, to be honest. it's just... shaded furry art.

I have a question about this one. Does the outline tag count if the outline is the same color as the background and only appears in a few spots (In this case, the spots where body parts cover the text)?

As for the art style... I don't think the shading is sharp enough to count as cel_shading.

Actually if you look closely the outline is visible all around him. The outline is pure white, and the background is off-white (actually looking again I'd call it an extremely pale baby blue).

In the case of an actual partial outline...probably don't tag it. From a graphic design standpoint just because there seems to be an outline doesn't mean there really is one. It's just as easy to erase some of the text to give the appearance of an outline as it is to give the whole character an actual outline.

You would think that a gesture as common as that would have an actual name.

We could go with something literal like fist_in_hand but a proper name would be better.

France refers to this as "slapping your fist", but that implies that the non-fist hand does most of the motion, while here in the U.S. it's the fist doing most of the motion.

Some martial arts also use a similar but more gentle gesture in certain motions / kata. Chinese martial arts refer to it as 抱拳 Bao Quan "fist wrapping".

BlueDingo said:

I've actually been looking to see if it has a proper name but no luck so far.

On a probably-unrelated note, it's actually kind of amazing how many obscene or contentious gestures the world has come up with...

EDIT: It seems various martial arts disciplines use a similar gesture as a form of salute , but that guy in the thumbnail clearly isn't saluting anyone (judging from the rest of his body language). Pretty sure Mr. Burr there isn't demonstrating the Bao Quan.

English is a crazy language because so many things are just left unnamed until a someone basically comes along and gives them a good name that sticks.

Did you know "elbow" wasn't a real word until Shakespeare invented it? Yep, up until that time there was just no good word for that particular part of the body. Seems crazy to me. Dude invented a crazy amount of words we take for granted today

Maybe there should just be a tag for "threatening_gesture" because there are quite a few that just don't have names afaik...drawing your finger across your throat (basically meaning "I'm gunna slit your throat")...outstretched hands like you're choking an invisible throat. Even forming your hands into a claw-like posture like you're going to grab someone...all of these don't have name afaik but could all easily be thrown into a "threatening_gesture" tag.

We have a suggestive_gesture tag with some tags within it already, so a threatening_gesture with a small list of tags within it could work. Then again, gestures can mean different things in different places and may not always be sexual, threatening, etc.

For example, fig_sign can mean denial, warding off jealousy, female genitalia, sex and I've got your nose. Whether it's offensive or not depends on where you do it. Which gesture are you forming when you make a v_sign behind someone's head, cuckold's_horns or bunny ears?

Danbooru calls forming your hands into a claw-like posture claw_pose.

Edit: Wikipedia calls the throat cutting gesture "Throat slash" and "cut-throat".

Do we have a tag for the vehicle Judy drives in Zootopia? Zootopia Wiki calls it a "Meter Maid Cart".

(Quick search)

That apparently is the vehicle's actual name (I also found "meter-maid car" and "meter maid vehicle"), but we haven't a tag for it.
I wonder if there are a post showing one of those cars that isn't zootopia-related.

Updated by anonymous

There actually are real world vehicles like that. They're very similar to autorickshaws http://theforeignchallenge.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/auto-rickshaw-challenge.jpg

But there're also more motorcycle-like three-wheelers with optional hard tops that I've seen around just a handful of times. I don't know offhand if there's a name for the class of them. But they do exist, in any case.

I guess your example isn't the refered vehicle , (it has a bucket). But maybe we can say that car in zootopia is more like a mix of both vehicles, since it is more compact and round than an actual meter maid car, resembling your example.

An apart question: why do people give inaccurate names for objects? Motorcycle, by its etymology, would refers to any vehicle with wheels ("motor" = "that moves", "cycle" = "wheels"). A similar thought is valid for bicycle, tricycle and quadricycle, since the prefixes state the number of wheels and multiple distinct vehicles, beside those, have the same number of wheels.

Being a small tag for something nonfetishy usually just means it's undertagged, as these things tend to be. If there's a bigger tag, you can just request an alias later.

I feel that there should be a "tapetum" tag. I know there's glowing_eyes but that's overly broad and doesn't always apply to realistically glowing eyes in animals.

for reference the eyes that possess a tapetum are reflecting light, not glowing. It would only be seen when something like a flash light is pointed at the eye, where a greenish yellow spot becomes visible.

The faceless_male wiki says it applies to a male character whose face is hidden. What tag do we use for when a male character's face is missing?

This character is a faceless male, but we can't tag it that because the faceless_male tag applies to hidden faces, not missing faces.

Other questions about faceless_male:

1. Does it count if he is merely facing the other way?
2. Does it count if only part of his face is hidden?

Faceless + male.
Faceless was mistagged several times, however I can't blame people for doing so; who would spontaneously figure that "faceless" and "faceless_*" are used differently.

2. I would say yes.

"convenient_censorship", I guess; maybe "covering_crotch" if the character is actively hiding its genitals. Actually, I think that would be interesting to have a specific tag for that (supposing we haven't such tag yet).

Recently, I was thinking on create a thread focused in find better names for tags like that one; what do you think?

Genjar said:
Should just alias faceless to featureless_face. That'd make the usage clearer, no?

I guess not, I imagine someone seing a post that would fit in "faceless_*", but tagging it with "faceless" (consequently resulting in "faceless_(feature)"). Maybe disambiguate it instead.

As stated, we also have some other tags that need a nomenclature discussion (mutual_masturbation, exposed etc). So, is a forum thread focused in that subject necessary?

I've been looking for human male on female feral and vaginal penetration kind of stuff (all straight), but so far the closest tag for the first one I know is "male_on_feral" but 99% of what I find is weird pokemon r34 where the pokemon are very tiny and it looks like fucking babies (and I don't even like pokemon). However I'm not counting mlp because there's also some mlp stuff, but sometimes I want to find non-mlp (because I found all of it already and it's not much) and especially non-pokemon but there seems to be barely anything.
Basically what I'm looking for is male on feral, any feral. Who knows, maybe there's just too little about it and I'm complaining about reality and being dumb, but since I'm kinda new into this maybe someone can help me out.
