Topic: De-implicate rainbow_dash_(mlp) from friendship_is_magic

...and also give the former tag's wiki entry a facelift, because the generation 4 version is NOT the only version of Rainbow Dash that exists. On the other hand, the implication and wiki entry could be left mostly as-is, if the tag name was changed to "rainbow_dash_(fim)" or something of the like, to differentiate her from the other Rainbow Dash. And yes, I can actually give an example of the implication causing a tagging problem on this site.

While we're on the subject, Applejack, Rarity, Fluttershy, and Pinkie Pie also all have previous-generation iterations. Really, the only member of the Mane Six who was invented outright for generation 4, was Twilight Sparkle.

There are actually separate tags for the different versions of Rainbow Dash: https://e621.net/tag?name=rainbow_dash*&type=&order=count

Maybe instead of de-implication, rainbow_dash should be aliased instead to rainbow_dash_(disambiguation)

In any case, the tags should be cleaned up

When 99+% of the tags are meant for just one of the four versions of the characters aliasing to a disambiguation page might be more trouble than it's worth, maybe instead have a wikipedia-esque redirect note, something like
"X is aliased here. This tag is for the <whatever> version of X, for other uses of the same name see X_(disambiguation)"
that way you don't have a bunch of people adding disambiguation tags to stuff but you still have a way for people to find out what the correct tag is.

Full agree. Disambiguation tags require constant work, and are also worse for searchability. It's not worth it when a tag is completely dominated like the MLP character tags.
