Aliasing marrowsoup → murkbone

Reason:

murkbone posts their NSFW as marrowsoup, but as there's no links in the Twitter profiles of either account connecting the two, uploaders may get confused and believe marrowsoup to be a different artist.

EDIT: The tag alias marrowsoup -> murkbone (forum #270489) has been rejected by @bitWolfy.

If the artist does not connect them at all, then don't connect them unless you get them to agree with it themselves.

nah, by default multiple artist tags get aliased to one regardless of how artist uses the aliases. they gotta especially request to have the tags kept separate if thats what they want

Linking SFW to NSFW accounts without artists permission sounds like a great way of making them go full DNP.

that is literally a standard procedure and happens all the time? i havent seen anyone ever go dnp for that, and i have been here for years and i spend a lot time lurking takedowns and other stuff

Murkbone is on the DNP list now, and some uploaders tried to bypass that by tagging posts with marrowsoup instead.

If the artist keeps the two names separate, I don't think the two should be linked/aliased as it would allow people to find out they're the same person against their wishes. It's also not unheard of for an artist to not want their SFW art here, but are fine with their NSFW art being here as long as it's attributed to their NSFW name and not their SFW name.

Well, it's either alias the two together, or have marrowsoup imply avoid_posting, much like murkbone does.
Then again, the avoid_posting page should probably list marrowsoup as well, since they took down their SFW too.

If the two names are separate, it's up to them to make them both DNP. Regardless, there's no proof presented here. Are they really the same person, or just happen to have a similar style with similar themes? Without evidence, it can just as easily be explained by them being friends or partners with similar tastes.

I've seen takedowns that make multiple separate names belonging to the same artist DNP, so if the artist only requested murkbone to be DNP, said nothing about marrowsoup, and doesn't attempt to indicate they're the same person, that would be making an artist DNP without being requested.

No, I'm ultimately asking for proof of them being the same person, if not of them wanting their "marrowsoup" art to be DNP along with their "murkbone" art.

Fair enough. If those similarities are enough to alias marrowsoup to murkbone without the artist explicitly linking their names, so be it. Still, it might be a good idea to ask them if they're fine with the two names being aliased, if they prefer the two names to be kept separate and individually marked DNP, or if they're fine with their marrowsoup art being here as long as there's no link to murkbone. It gets annoying to fix up later when they want the names separate, as has happened before. Ideally there would be a clear policy for linking multiple active names for an artist, as it seems to be the same person making this alias request who also made the wiki and artist pages point out they're the same, despite the artist not mentioning it anywhere themselves. I thought I read somewhere that if the artist themself doesn't link their names/sites (indirectly even), e6 shouldn't either regardless of how obvious it may otherwise be... but I don't know where I read that or if I'm misremembering, and there doesn't seem to be any info in a sticky or the wiki/guidelines.

For the sake of having the information out there, I'd just point out that Murkbone's takedown was made a month ago, around the same time they left FA and are probably going to disable that account soon. However, Marrowsoup is still uploading to FA where they have been for the last 7 months, with art as of 11 days ago and a commission journal 3 days ago. They had been using the Marrowsoup name for art for at least 6 months prior to Murkbone's takedown, yet they didn't make a request for Marrowsoup to be DNP or say that it's them. So there is a decent chance they want Murkbone gone from places like e6 and possibly FA, but are fine with Marrowsoup being around in more adult places and not linked to Murkbone.

Well this is sad, didn't knew they had an alt account since most artist say that on their profiles, good to know!
And blessed may it be, it has a "MOUTHPLAY" Folder in their FA, sure hope they don't go Ape and delete that FA for whatever reason, otherwise only way to see their art would be with Tor Browser.
