I'd guess that it' because they don't want their names to show up on posts in the rare occasion that they get posted and they'd prefer their tame to not show up more than they care about the art getting taken down. (not that they wouldn't want the art to get taken down, that is)

shouldnt it be aliased to anonymous_artist then? thats what the tag is for

An alias to Avoid Posting would do both at once, though.

I would expect that it's because they don't mind their works being posted, they just don't want their name associated with them :P

Right. And if I had to hazard a guess, anonymous_artist wasn't widely used enough back when those were aliased.

Wouldn't have been anonymous if they were pretty much the only artists under the tag, with the nicks plainly visible in the wiki. But now? Maybe those could be moved there, the tag has gotten popular.

All four aliases due to takedowns "[Reason hidden by submitter]" / "not visible to users."
so hopefully an admin will have time to view the reasons can figure out if updating the aliases is a good idea.

I think updating aliases for both macks tags TO -> anonymous_artist sounds reasonable.
(but since i can't see the takedown reason, I might be wrong)

tehpeej tags more complicated, with tehpeej being a character tag.
From searching FA it looks like no character named tehpeej (FA tehpeej's character named something else)
IF the takedown reason was just that there is no character named tehpeej,
then maybe tehpeej -> tehpeej_(disambiguation) ? With maybe tehpeej_(artist) -> anonymous_artist ?
