Topic: Tag Implication: horkeukamui -> tokyo_afterschool_summoners

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

If the tag is going to implicate a video game it has to be renamed to horkeu_kamui_(tas) since horkeu_kamui is a myth character in the same way anubis doesn't implicate any video game or cartoon, etc.

https://housamo.wiki/Horkeu_Kamui#Notes

Almost every character from tokyo_afterschool_summoners are based on myths from all over ther world that's why almost all characters have a _(tas) or a _(housamo)

Another character with the same name https://goldenkamuy.fandom.com/wiki/Retar

Alias
Horkew Kamuy (ホㇿケウカムイ, Howling God)

Indeed ... I think so, too -- Yes, I know what you mean.
But, Are there any Posts that are Horkeukamui BUT NOT Tokyo-After-School-Summoners? ... right now? --- I don't think there are.

I'd like to ask you to read THIS : [ https://e621.net/forum_topics/23553 ]
The reason as you are using that method (( _(tas) )) would probably be to make this tag unique --- Hmm, It is not that necessary in the current situation.

That said, It will be necessary If "Horkeukamui But Not TAS" posts ever appears --- We'll come up with a solution again then.

One could consider it futureproofing, doing a little bit of work now to prevent a lot of work later if things change.

Yes you are right.
... I don't know of any other character called Horkeukamui, tbh.
Even in this case, would it be better to avoid it by making the tag unique beforehand for future considerations?

... Oh yeah, IF I were to create a character named Horkeukamui now,
Either or Both = TAS and/or MINE would have to avoid, to make the Tags unique, right?

* facepalm *
Okay. Thank you.

If it's your own unique character, you would need to give it a suffix (ex. horkeu_kamui_(kurogi)) to avoid clashes.
I adjusted the implication and moved all the current posts under horkeu_kamui to horkeu_kamui_(tas).

... actually, should there be a space between horkeu and kamui? The wiki entry has a space in it, but it seems like other sources don't.

Okay, I will make a decision in that direction from now on.

"Horkeu" means Wolf, and "Kamui" means God, in the language of AINU (( Indigenous People of Hokkaido )) --- so "Horkeu_Kamui" means Wolf_God. Hence I guess there should be a space.

But. But... Please see this Page.
I have just realized the official English name doesn't seem to have any spaces. ...What should we do?

What Google Translate hörks out:

About the English notation of Horkeukamui

We have received multiple inquiries regarding the English notation of the character "Horokeu Kamui" in our work "Tokyo Afterschool Summoners", and we will post the answer in the FAQ.

Regarding the English notation "Horkeukamui" of the same character,
"Ainu Shinyoshu" by Yukie Chiri, edited by Kunihiko Hokkai
We refer to the ones listed in.
However, in the latest edition of the book, Horkewkamuy is referred to as "Horkewkamuy".

In Japanese Ainu language materials including this book, it seems that after a certain period of time, the Ainu words are revised according to the general modern orthography.
For example, I understand that the sub-vowels of diphthongs at the end of syllables have been changed as follows.
(As far as we confirmed by our development team, it seems that the change has already been made in the 1999 version.)

eu → ew “Example: horkeu → horkew”
ui → uy "Example: kamui → kamuy"

Due to these circumstances, it is considered that there are differences depending on the referenced documents.
Regarding the setting of the English notation of the same character, Horokeukamui, since the character is an image of an old-fashioned samurai, "Horkeukamui", which is an old-fashioned description, is adopted. [Emphasis mine]

Which, to me, seems to say that either way is acceptable but parsing it as one word, "Horkeukamui" is marginally the more accepted version. I say we may as well go with one word and let the chips fall where they may. :/

Ah, I see, I should think of it as a kind of merging of words in English, like --- ●police + man = policeman ●girl + friend = girlfriend
Then, with the official decision, I'd vote for "Horkeukamui" , too.

Okay, My final vote is horkeukamui_(tas).

Interesting.

Based on the screenshots I could find, he is referred to as "Horkeu Kamui" in-game, so that should be fine. Ex, [1], [2] [3]
I mean, I could also add an alias from horkeukamui_(tas). But I don't think that's necessary – the autocomplete should return the proper result already.

Got it, I would trust your judgment.

For the record, I'll leave here Why I think so :
●The possibility of crashing other tags in e621 is certainly avoided now. ●Official in the updated game call him so.
●Autocomplete will return it when a user simply types h-o-r-k, 4 chars -- Regardless of whether it Has a space or Not.

EDIT : Also, @mapachito and @Clawstripe , Thanks for your suggestions.

Works for me. I have no emotional investment either way.
